Here's some useful information for you.. Autoglym Polar Blast (a 'ph Neutral' and 'safe for waxes' snow foam) is better at pre-washing than Chemical Guys Clean Slate which is supposedly a strip wash.
While Clean Slate isn't designed to foam, it still did a good job of it in my cheap foam cannon. I left it to dwell for as long as I dared before it dried. It barely removed any dirt which was disappointing as I used it at maximum concentration. I still had to do a contact wash. It wouldn't even remove the bird poo which was fresh that morning. I don't think it removed a single bug. It also didn't hinder the beading or sheeting from Autoglym Polar Seal applied last week.
I was a little surprised by this as it did a very good job on the old protection on the bike. Once again I used Chemical Guys Glossworkz for the contact wash, it's a shame it's expensive as I really like using it. Many a bug had 'Lemminged' its way onto my windscreen which the contact wash hadn't removed so I used my Koch Chemie Speed Glass Cleaner for the first time. It smells exactly like Meguiar's Quick Detailer and unlike household glass cleaner this is a creamy substance. It's cleaning ability is incredible, removing all the bugs in 1 application and buffing off to be perfect with a 2nd microfibre. 1 spray per side window and 2 sprays for the front and rear, this bottle is going to last me a long time!
The rear window was covered in dog nose prints and some water spotting. Finally, my last delivery for the next major clean arrived and I can't wait to try it!
