Talking to the nurses in the hospital yesterday, they had a horrendous time back in April.

Stoke and Stafford alone had 6 wards full of covid patients, not taking into account the critical care beds

Flynn has had his first week at school. Came home with a cold and passed it on to his baby sister and his mom already. All lock down the kids have not had one cold. So whilst kids are at school I see no way of this not spreading

It's that time of year. I used to hate it when the kids were small as you were guaranteed a couple of colds between now and Christmas

I'm glad I'm self isolating at this moment in time. I live near the school and having just seen loads of different parents walking side by side as well as all the different kids, it seems like there isn't even a pandemic.

The Cotswold BMW dealership down the road from me has a confirmed Covid case.

The World Health Organisation have produced costings to deal with and end the corona crisis.

$35bn

I'm guessing countries won't be prepared to donate.

Free Flu Vouchers are starting to make their way around... I wonder if some of these batches have covid related substances included.

Why would you need a free flu voucher......flu has always been free in the past. Has something changed??

so the saga of getting to work and back continues......

I had an exemption request in to be able to go home and self isolate rather than sitting in Darwin (point of entry) for two weeks, after the NSW Govt reclassified us as overseas travellers. NT Govt had given us exemptions to enter without point of entry quarantine.

Well, The NT had state elections, and a new Govt have got in, and out exemption was reviewed, and then revoked. The crew that flew off on Wednesday all got gathered on arrival to Darwin via helicopter, and taken to the Govt. run Quarantine detention centre. It now appears NT have also reclassified us as overseas travellers and now ever trip home we are going to have to do 14 days at Howard Springs detention centre.

So my NSW exemption if I get it is now useless. Will be nearly 6 weeks away by the time I get home now, and I'll only get a 2.5 week break (gah)

By the time I get home in October I would have so far this year done

2 weeks hotel quarantine
4 weeks company quarantine
6 weeks self-isolation at home
2 weeks govt facility quarantine

all for 8 weeks offshore.

And just to show how ridiculous all this is... the Timor_Australia maritime jurisdiction got altered just last year. After a dispute that went to the Hague, our platform moved from Australian waters to Timor Waters.. I'm the red blob labelled Bayu Undan.

Image

I'm about 50km the wrong side of the new border, and that as far as the bureaucrats are concerned, makes me an international traveller and I must be locked up, even though I've been isolated in the middle of the fecking ocean for 2-3 weeks anyway.
