Went for a nando's last night and then saw Bad Boys 3 at the cinema. That was very good. Really enjoyed it. They made the characters live again

Just sorting the finances for the new car on Wednesday. I've done numerous quotes for car insurance, all of which are more expensive than my current policy. I checked with my current insurer about changing cars on that policy and it will cost me £8 including the £25 admin fee. Bargain !!

Went down to the local Rural Fire Service monthly meeting as a prospective new recruit.
Kids are old enough now and know Jess well enough that if I have to bugger off for an incident they can be shipped off for supervision.
Also would be good to put my training to some real world use and pick up some new skills, not to mention meeting a good group of people.

Just got in from having 2 different blood tests, one at the local doctors and one in Sheffield at the Royal Hallamshire, that's apparently quite an expensive one for pituitary function so my local health authority won't pay for it. I should have taken the bike, city rush hour traffic is not something that I'm used to.

Looking at a career change, Kiwi? Or is this more of a backup in case contracts run dry?
Always take the bike when heading into the city! Even if it's just to hear your exhaust reverberating off cages!

Nah mate the RFS is a volunteer service. We have full time Fire and Rescue for the metro areas but for bush fires in regional areas it’s the realm of the RFS. It’s unpaid. I felt useless during the big event having all these skills and watching others head out and do all the dirt work.
