That's encouraging news. You can see the bone formation and there's decent gaps between the bones which is what you want, so the metalwork is clearly doing its job.

Fingers crossed for Friday.

Neuro review Friday week and I should be cleared to go back to work!!! Never thought I’d be so happy to say that (lol)

Good news. We might all get fed up with work and much of that is because we spend too much time there but without it life would feel a bit empty.

I’m kept pretty busy when I have the kids, so it’s not feeling too empty, but I am missing the technical aspect of my job, fault finding/trouble shooting, people respecting and seeking out your knowledge and opinion. Also miss the craic we have offshore.

It’s also a completely different situation between being forced not to work due to your health compared to just taking a holiday from it.

Kiwi great news mate. Won't be long until you are at full health. Must be a long process up to this stage but it will be worth it.

Riding the bus to work, 2 buses and a minimum of 1 hour but I've allowed 90 mins in case 1 doesn't show up.... Takes 15-20 mins in the car. At least it's free.

Picking up the new to me car at dinner time.

Picked up the car and it's surprising nippy, the AC is cold and it drives like a little go kart. Welcome to cheap and cheerful motoring.

Why is there no decent rail service to Cornwall? Or anywhere in the UK for that matter?

We travelled from Paris to Avignon on the first class TGV on Thursday at 200mph+.

The seats are super comfy and massive, the journey took 2.5 hours (I would guess it’s about 450-500 miles) and it cost us 85 euros all in for two of us.

I read somewhere a few years ago that SNCF had ordered hundreds, if not thousands of new trains for the French rail network.
Unfortunately, it seems the new trains are too wide to fit next to the station platforms, and too tall to fit in the tunnels.
Merde! (rolf)

A friend loaned me his 12v compressor which got me home, the spare is present but the rim was dented, it got a bit of tough love with a 3kg hammer and an angry former tyre fitter/mechanic... It sealed, inflated and a 3" bulge showed itself in the side wall, arse.

So, tomorrow I will be commuting by bike despite having 2 cars (one sat on a badly bulged tyre, one uninsured) so that my dad can get the punctured one repaired. It's a brand new Conti so it's worth saving.
