Agree about the Ateca. I've got a Leon ST, which i'm really pleased with - the Ateca is just a bigger body style with the same gubbins in it. DSG is ace

I just think SUV's are too large in any flavour - gimme an estate car anyday.

Big sucker for the A4 Avant. I also can't make my mind up on BMWs, I just don't like the way they drive and each one I drive is so different to the last despite being the same on paper.

I like the C-class wagon too but the engines are terrible on fuel.

There's a lot of criticism about open cast mining in Australia. The suggestion is that the exposed earth and coal capture a lot of heat, rather than radiate it back out. The hot earth/coal causes huge updrafts which in turn causes incoming rushing cold air. You can see how a fire would spread quickly under those conditions. It also causes a lot of dust which settles and kills off plant life. Once the plants go there's the problem of soil erosion. Dust also causes massive health problems for pretty much every air breathing animal.

Birmingham now looking to ban cars altogether too. Must confess i was well impressed with the Manchester tram system on Saturday. It is the way forward.

As of 2017, 82% of NZ electricity was produced by renewables, mainly hydro & geothermal, but also solar and wind.
