I have always been of the opinion that party politics was no good , how can your MP represent your constituency when they are directed on how to vote by "The Party" ?

We need proportional representation

And no MP should be allowed to represent the same constituency more than two terms. There are too many MPs who appear to have too comfortable a life.

The Bank of England has put up interest rates by 0.25%

They're also warning of a possible recession next year.

CNN reported something similar the other day from one of the big European banks.
I think 'inevitable' was the term used.

Not the end of it imo. Once again we are into the recessionary cycle. I reckon rates will follow inflation up to 4 - 5%

I was reading an article yesterday that said the BoE would be left with no choice but to trigger a recession to stop inflation spiralling out of control.

Starmer and Raynor have said they'll step down if they are given fixed penalty notices for breaking lockdown rules.

Your move Johnson. Your move.

IMHO it was the only option open to him.:
* If he is found to be innocent of the allegations, he had nothing to fear by having made the assurance
* If he was found guilty, his integrity would be so undermined that his role as leader of Labour would become untenable anyway.
* Either way, his "moral high ground" should serve against Boris, for either himself (or if found guilty, his sucessor).

Fwiw I was only surprised that he hadn't stated that stance straight away. There seemed quite a delay (with his colleagues avoiding taking a view when questioned).

He made the decision last Friday once the police said they were going to reinvestigate the matter.

Starmer spent the weekend talking to his shadow cabinet to let them know what he was going to do

How many police officers have been brought to task over this.
At the least, it appears like dereliction of duty.?
For the actual DPS officers at Downing St at the time, it smacks of "Aiding and Abetting".??

And from The Guardian website....
"Durham Police said last week they would investigate claims Keir Starmer broke lockdown rules by eating a takeaway curry at a campaign event last year."
... ARE YOU FRICKIN' KIDDING ME????

What a shambolic waste of time and money.
