Took the kids to Wellington park, I'm fooked....
Now have to deal with one overly bouncy 7 year old and one very quiet 5 year old who I've just discovered has a temperature of 39.8 degrees.
CALPOL !!!!!

Realising that I really am actually getting old.
I discovered this week that I simply can't cope with the same stresses, pressures & sleep deprivation that I thrived on in the past.
I need some downtime, very soon,

Make sure you get it then. As you know, it's better to head these things off as soon as you can.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Leisurely start to the day as I've been away all week, MiniGee and myself went BBQ hunting, as our old one collapsed a long time back, we found a decent kettle design, splurged on a few extras and then spent 45 mins putting it together in the garden.
This afternoon, had a wander down to the water and watched some of the local sailing regatta (I live on the coast) with the family and enjoyed both the weather, an ice cream and young women not wearing a lot, back home again and had a chilled pastis & water as a refresher, then got the new BBQ fired up, we loaded it up this evening and enjoyed the fruits of our new toy - more details on the eats thread. All in all a very good day!

Feeling like crap after not getting to sleep until about 3.30am after a combination of a bit too much coffee and an almighty thunderstorm that just wouldn't give up - the sky was lit for 3-4secs at a time and it was like daylight in the house, plus 2 power cuts with phones and cooker bleeping for attention both times. Feel knackered this morning.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Just back from taking puppy for a walk. Now catching up on the forum(s), drinking a coffee & contemplating placing an advert for my Dad's old MGB.
I think I'll have a sleep for a few hours, then find some numb job that can keep me busy without having to think for a few hours.
Mowing the lawn should do the trick.

The MGB remains the only car I've ever enjoyed driving, I had a Blaze (reddish orange) B, very similar to the car in the pic - barring the wire wheels, wish I'd never sold it.
How are the sills, inner wings and door bottoms? Or don't I want to know?

My dad's dream car was a MG-BGT. Shame he's had to give up his license now and will never own one.Deegee wrote:The MGB remains the only car I've ever enjoyed driving, I had a Blaze (reddish orange) B, very similar to the car in the pic - barring the wire wheels, wish I'd never sold it.

Well, as it happens that car was Blaze with Rostyle wheels when it left the factory. ( He has the heritage certificate that gives all the spec') He had it converted to Wire wheels when he had it reconditioned.Deegee wrote:The MGB remains the only car I've ever enjoyed driving, I had a Blaze (reddish orange) B, very similar to the car in the pic - barring the wire wheels, wish I'd never sold it.

Tinwork appears pretty good afikt. He had it revamped about 20+ years ago (when he got it resprayed in the BRG/Cream finish) and I don't think it's ever been wet since.
I only ever drove it once or twice all the time he's had it, and I'm afraid it did not appeal to me.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I had a crush on those cars when I was younger too. In NZ until the early 90's when Asian imports started to flood in, majority of our cars were British or European imports.
In my early 20's I was kicking around with an older lass that had one. After driving it I wasn't as fussed, mainly due to the power output. But now years on that wouldn't bother me and one of those in the garage for weekend bimbles would be quite nice!
