Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
After I finished work I went straight to my bike and gave it a big clean down! Literally had clear water hit the bike and when it was falling down it was black!! I was shocked considering I just washed it a few weeks ago and have only used it a little due to the weather!! Anyway washed in those really hard to reach places let it drip a bit then smothered it in ACF50. My oil sprayer has now broke I pumped it a load of times and it only sprayed a little! So I popped my ACF50 into my WD40 spray bottle and it soaked my bike in ACF50, far too much really but I'll pick a new sprayer soon. Least it's protected now until the warmer weather shows its face.
Not going to use her today as I'm letting the ACF50 creep for the week. Pretty happy I've done it now. I also sprayed the chain down with the rest of the Muc Off cleaner and then lubed it then sprayed a bit of ACF50 on it as well. Seems to make it easier to clean later on in time.

Very foggy this morning but at least it wasn't too cold.
Plus it's light now on the way into work, which makes it a bit easier for filtering.

It was hammering it down when I left the house this morning. Lots of standing water which meant loads of spray on the roads which makes visibility an issue.
Thankfully the rain backed off when I got closer to work.
Does anyone else think "oh shit, hope this isn't for me?" when they see blue lights in the mirror? On the A46 making good progress (**ahem**) through the traffic when I see blues lights in the distance in my right hand mirror. Move over and hope that the car goes sailing past, which it did.

No I normally think the reverse, if he's got his blue lights on he's probably on a job and not interested in me.
Apart from one time a few years ago on the M25 (private road, down south) when both my mirrors lit up flashing blue! Looked down at the clock to see 130 and was fairly certain they were for me!

Given that 95% of my road travel is work oriented I tend to think they're just on a shout.
However, I too have had both mirrors full of blue lights for the same reasons as Monty , funnily enough, just prior to my lack of rearward observation being termed "attempted evasion of the law". Idiot.

Looks good mate. Prefer the Yoshi ZORST over the other one.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Picked it up from the garage.
Serviced.
MOT'd.
New chain & rear sprocket (not front one due to the Kawasaki sprocket removal debacle).
New front brake pads (not rear one as apparently it's the wrong model to fit, despite getting the right one for the supposedly the right year)
New K&N air filter
New K&N (I think) oil filter
New Goodridge Shadow Brake Lines
New front and rear rizoma fluid pots
I haven't had much of a chance to give it a look over, I picked it up in my lunch break and now it's tucked away in the garage.
Greasy wet roads meant I wasn't going to do any serious brake testing but what I did feel was progressive and powerful, no grabbing or anything, just using one finger brought the speed down in a manner that seemed to say "Yes, I will stop you with ease, I could stop the earth from turning if I wanted, this 200kg bike wouldn't make me break a sweat!"
I'll get a proper look and some pics up at the weekend.

I look forward to the photos and ongoing review mate. Which brake pads did you go with?

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Based on the recommendations of this forum I went with Bendix MRR.Kwacky wrote:I look forward to the photos and ongoing review mate. Which brake pads did you go with?
There was no option for a rear MRR on the site, and I figured a rear wouldn't need quite as strong a pad so just went with a MR. I don't know if they've sent me the wrong one or there's a discrepancy between the Zeds or what. But I do have a brand new set of rear pads if anyone's after one. (List of bikes to follow when I can be arsed to go back in the garage!)

It was light when I left the house this morning and at one point I was even using the internal sun visor.
It's a shame the forecast looks crap for the rest of the day.

Took it for an early morning MOT. The sun was shining so figured it would be rude not to do a few laps.

Just fitted a new set of bar end mirrors on the 999, I can actually tighten these up properly unlike the 1st pair, good job they're only £13 !!
