I don't know what it is. Her daughter is dead. There was no unborn child when she died. The mother is 60.

But the mother/grandmother wants to give birth to the baby... how's that going to happen?
Stupid people in stupid times. I don't know who's more stupid, the woman, her solicitor or the court.

She's got to get the eggs, take them to the US, find a sperm donor then get the egg fertilised. It's madness.

So it could take 2 years or more.. that kid is likely to lose it's mother/grandmother when it's 18 years old.
Also, his mother is his sister...

Re: I'm struggling to understand this
Wow!! Tough one. Seems like she's trying to 'replace' her lost daughter in some form??
I know my dear old Mam lost her first child at age two and never ever fully recovered from it, not by a mile - hence me and my r'tard sister being adopted (less pain...she was wrong!!).
Who knows what goes through the mind of someone who loses a child?? I know I don't...and I don't ever want to find out. Wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Re: I'm struggling to understand this
From what I recall of an interview with this woman I read a while back, the daughter allegedly gave her verbal permission but didn't include it in her will etc, hence the legal struggle.
It's still wrong according to my dubious moral compass and will doubtless be a precedent for more idiots to follow, convinced they are doing what their dead relative wanted.
