Washed it and went at the paintwork with a clay bar, polished and waxed. Got some motografix tank pads coming so left a couple of areas wax free. Will get some photos up when I've stuck them on. Headers are getting a bloody good autosol session tomorrow and I'll get amongst the calipers too.

Found a new stone chip in the tank, courtesy of Sunday's rideout.
It's fairly big.
Guess I'll put it on the list of things I need to get round to sorting out!

Drag raced an AMG merc on a bypass. That thing could shift.

Some of the AMG Mercs have a 5.5 litre V8 producing just under 600bhp.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
There's an american youtube channel who tested the E63 (AWD in USA) against a BMW M6.. the Merc produced 590bhp at the wheels which when the standard 20% power loss is taken into account means it's running around 700bhp at the crank !!!duke63 wrote:Some of the AMG Mercs have a 5.5 litre V8 producing just under 600bhp.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Fwiw I've had my arse handed to me by one too.: When I 1st got my 675 on the road I came up behind an SLK on a nice bit of road, so I dropped a gear & shot past (for a short/safe overtake, honest ).Kwacky wrote:Drag raced an AMG merc on a bypass. That thing could shift.
Moments later SLK passes me like I've stopped at the roadside.!
I tried following him, for a few seconds......
I realised I'd hit three figures, & he was a diminishing dot. You only get one life, & one licence, so I backed off.
A few miles later he was waiting at the first road junction, obviously looking in his mirrors. When he saw me he simply nodded & drove off. I just got near enough to see the AMG badge....
An F1 in disguise as a hairdressers car IMHO.

Took it for the day out with a call into Oulton to see Andy and he was going really well.

600 bhp nothing in a 2.5 ton car really do go well though I must admit
Bike 160 to 180 bhp less than 200kg

It's my Z1000SX so there's only about 125bhp at the back wheel.

Not actually true if its a C63 AMG. Performance cars these days have some serious stomp in them.markrsvr15 wrote:A good 1000cc bike should smoke it i raced one on my old bike had to de throttle i was up his arse that much pulled over at 150 give me the vs hahaha.Kwacky wrote:Drag raced an AMG merc on a bypass.
