I'm a bit late in here but I really hope she can make a full recovery!
I'm glad the operation was successful though

Re: The Big C ......
Gutted to hear this Spudda and as others say thoughts are with you and if you need anything please just ask.
Being positive my best mate was rushed to hospital from the airport 2 years ago and found he had a brain tumour the size of a fist he was completely unware of. Two years on and his last 3 scans have been completely clear.
Cancer can be beaten back and I hope you have the strength to stay positive and hopeful.
Thoughts and prayers with all the Spudda family.

Words can't describe how you must be feeling right now and it's hard to express words of support.Hang in there and best of luck

Re: The Big C ......
Update
Its been confirmed that she has 2 Lesions on the Brain and now 4 in the left lung
Prognosis is 6 months to 2 years depending on how she responds to the radiotherapy, if she responds well then we may get 3,4,5 years who knows.
We've gone through the anger, the questions, the tears, the worry - all kinds of emotions.
Shes out of Hospital for now and we've had a lovely afternoon involving Spudlets, Coffee and Cake and as nice as it was, it kind of hit home that these moments will need to be treasured
So next stages are a Medical Meeting at the Birmingham QE on Tuesday where they will discuss her case, decide if any of the Lesions can be operated on or whether the radio therapy is the best cause of action and then we're seeing the Oncologist on Thursday regarding the results

My thoughts are with you and your family, Spudda.
And please if you need help with anything do not hesitate to ask. I'm sure that goes for everyone else on here too.

Re: The Big C ......
I'm at a loss what to say that hasn't been said or you've thought.
I'm only a phone call away. Whether you want to bend an ear, shout at someone or have a good cry. I'm happy to take the lads out for a few hours if you want some peace or babysit if you want to go out.
What I found with my father in law is that he did really well when he had something to aim for. He lived much longer than expected because he moved from one target to the next; Christmas, 60th wedding anniversary, Sam's birthday. That was with very little treatment, which he didn't want.
Shout if you need anything. That's a genuine offer, not a platitude.

Oh crap, it's impossible to say anything of use to you at a time like this, but I'll echo Kwacky's sentiments. There like a bear if you need anything and I mean anything.

Oh my goodness.
Nothing I can say will change the future for you but all you can do is make the most of every moment, get as much treatment as she can get and be optimistic.
Thoughts with you all of course and if you need to chat or support, we will give you what we can.
All our love fella. Let us know how your getting on.

Nothing I can say Spudda that hasn't been said already. I echo everything the lads have already said and would gladly assist in anyway I can.
Thoughts and prayers are with all the Spudda family. Take care.

Re: The Big C ......
Can't imagine how you are dealing with all this, so devastated for you and your family.
I can't offer much support way down here but if a trip to Aussie is something you ever thought of, I live in the Blue Mountains area and my home is open to you and your family. I've got a bar, a pool (just come in summer) and hopefully a serviceable motorbike in the garage.
