Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
It was a tiny bit slippery around mine this morning, but not so dangerous as not to ride.
Honestly, I'm not just saying that I rode a super bike because other people didn't. It was SAFE for me to do so, or I wouldn't have.

Having sent a CBR600rr down the road on its side after hitting black ice I realised there's little to gain from riding into work on days like today.

Just changed the rectifier/regulator on the Millennium Dodo, following on from the battery last week.
Also fitted an Optimate lead to Rosa, because she stuttered a bit starting tonight and the clock was well wrong. So she probably needs a battery too. Sigh. Constant expense. Just like REAL women.

I did. A bit of Boxed In on the stereo. Traffic was light. It's the only time this week I've made it into work in less than an hour.

In my experience, slow crashes hurt more often than faster ones.
I hurt myself more from a 10mph spill on ice (riding a supermoto) than I did at about 50mph when I went too fast for a turn and went up the grass bank.
That said, a 45mph crash into a curb and through a fence hurt the most and I was on crutches for 13 weeks after tearing muscles and ligaments in my knee and calf.

I'd say being hit by cars is about as bad as it gets, personally. The offs I've had solo, not so bad.
Well, apart from that big motocross one when I was a nipper. That was nasty.

In fairness, I've only had solo accidents - I try to avoid other road users entirely.
I have a video showing me run wide on a hairpin and narrowly avoiding an oncoming BMW. Me/my bike does not like low speed turns haha. I have no idea how we didn't touch

I love that name for your motorbike. You should get some kind of Han solo style riding gear whilst on it.dogbot wrote:Just changed the rectifier/regulator on the Millennium Dodo,.
Or a 1 piece suit that is completely hairy, Chewbacca style.

I really wish it was my joke, but it's from a song. I quite like the costume idea, though...
"I keep track of the miles I run,
But read the flask it say
'Southside, son'
Took a sip through the hole in my ski mask,
Roll til we get to the 'burbs for the cheap gas"

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Sold it! I phoned up Team Roberts Triumph twice for a trade in price and they couldn't be bothered phoning me back so I ended up selling it to a mate who's returning to biking. New bike hunt starts now...

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Hahaha. I'm going to stick on a 600 for at least another year yet. I've messaged someone local to me selling a 675r but not heard anything back yet. Was tempted with a zx6 but my thoughts are that when I get a litre bike it's likely to be a 4 stroke so I'll enjoy another triple while I can.
