I've booked the bike in with the guy in Hinckley as he's available this Saturday morning.

Re: Motorcycle Valeting
I hate washing my bike nearly as much as polishing it and I'm very lazy. So if I ever need any tips I always ask a lazy person that doesn't like doing something.
I cleaned my bike about 4 times a year when I was commuting on it every day in London rain or shine, plus salt. But every time I cleaned it I covered it in any spray that contained PTFE.
I now own a collection of triumph parts with not a spot of rust or fur. Every fairing bolt looks like it came out of the factory last week and the bike lived outside for 3 years of it's 10 years (tragically cut short) life.
Cannot recommend the stuff enough, it's magic

I felt sooooo smug riding off after getting my bike cleaned by a car wash... until I saw what that chemical crap does to your metal work ARGHH!TonyB wrote:I hate cleaning my bike. I don't even do a normal clean. That's what Eastern European run car washes are for

Re: Motorcycle Valeting
Yea that doesn't surprise me when I booked mine in this year I had to book it well in advance. He is a busy man doing all that!! Least you got a booking so quick. Show us some before and after pics Kwacky. Are you staying with him while he washes your bike? When I had mine done with SBS I felt a bit odd staying so I decided to take the missus and walked around the park while he pampered my vehicle

Re: Motorcycle Valeting
Honestly, I never had any metal fur up or corroded. I have a cloth saturated with acf50 in a sarnie bag under my bike seat that gets wiped over the metal that's not lacqueredFireblade_Ro wrote:I felt sooooo smug riding off after getting my bike cleaned by a car wash... until I saw what that chemical crap does to your metal work ARGHH!TonyB wrote:I hate cleaning my bike. Re: Motorcycle Valeting
He's a really nice bloke and clear knows what he's doing. As he explained it, the washing is needed to get the ACF50 on there so it can do its job. He took his time to explain the process and what it entailed then gave me a run down on how to look after the bike when I wash it.

Re: Motorcycle Valeting
Looks great Kwacky. Definitely worth the money in my opinion as you know it's done properly and that ACF50 coating won't come off now for a fair few months!!
