Proud new owner !
Well as of today I am the new owner of a 2003 Ducati 999s, went to look at it last Sunday and that was it, absolutely fantastic nick and a host of extras !! mainly BST Carbon wheels !! full 57mm Termi exhaust system ,PC111, clutch etc etc. A quick blast back today down the M4 back home, things to change already, need either a grippier seat or at least some grippy tank pads, the seat is very slippy. Didn't like the position of the pegs so may get some rearsets apart from that not a lot . Oh and the mirrors give the worst view ive had so far on a sportsbike
Only pic I have so far will take some more tonight

Very nice Mick. A very impressive stable now with the multi, Blade and 999.

That's nice. One bike I would love to own, there is something about the stacked headlights I like.

Re: Proud new owner !
Is it the later model with the fabricated swing arm Mick or a cast swing arm ?

Re: Proud new owner !
Mine has the cast swingarm, done a bit of research and I think the black swingarm is from 05 onwards. Looks like a good mod to do but I think it's pretty hard to get hold of one. Something to think about for next year maybe.Blade wrote:Is it the later model with the fabricated swing arm Mick or a cast swing arm ?
Just gave it a clean

Looks mint Mick and looking at the size of those chicken strips I think it's had one extremely careful owner. Very nice purchase. Enjoy it.

Re: Proud new owner !
TO be fair to the previous owner he put some new rubber on he's only done about 200 miles on them.
Very happy with it, there a few stone chips etc but for its age its in extremely good condition, always fancied one so thought why the hell not !!

Nice bike, Mick. A man of perfect taste.
I did see your enquiry about it on the forum.

Re: Proud new owner !
Lovely, I have always liked them. They had a hard life as they were probably the least liked evolution in the Ducati range, even more so following on from the 916/998.
Enjoy it mate, she looks mint.

Re: Proud new owner !
That is mainly down to the 916 results being categorized differently to the 996 and 998.Blade wrote:I think they were also the most successful Ducati in wsbk too
I think the 916 on its own won about 2 races less than the 999 but if you add in 996 and 998 race wins it won nearly twice as many as the 999.
