WD40 Rip Off
Both WD40 smart spray aerosols. The one of the right is 20ml bigger which is 5% except the can is about 20-25% bigger and exactly the same diameter.
How can this be ???? Only explanation I can see is the can on the right is sold part filled which is a bit of a Swizz.

Re: WD40 Rip Off
Ones 400 ml the other is 420 ml content but cans are much more than 5% difference in volume, I don't follow.

Re: WD40 Rip Off
Aerosols can have inner chambers, so I assume the bigger can has one and the volume of the chamber inside is much smaller than the outer.

Re: WD40 Rip Off
Different or more propellant?
Probably just marketing though as you are more likely to pick the big tin off the shelf

Re: WD40 Rip Off
A good example are the Lynx sprays as they do the same volume in two very different can sizes.

Re: WD40 Rip Off
They can't reduce the volume, well not with out many millions of PSI. Only thing they can alter is the amount and type of propellant. The ad is quite funny, shows a video of the the molecules being pushed together.C00kiemonster wrote:A good example are the Lynx sprays as they do the same volume in two very different can sizes.

Same about of smell, but less stuff. Has to be, unless they've successfully manufactured a very small star in every can.C00kiemonster wrote:Sorry not volume, I meant same amount of smelly stuffMonty wrote:They can't reduce the volume, well not with out many millions of PSI. When I was younger we used to line up half empty aerosols on a sheet of newspaper. We'd set fire to the newspaper and then shoot the aerosols with an air rifle.

Almost as good fun as putting full cans of baked beans in camp fires when you're camping.

Re: WD40 Rip Off
Haha. I did a lot of stoopid things when younger/last week "to see what happens." From lightning puddles of petrol and running tbrough it to leave flaming footprints to probably an all time stupid. You might remember fireworks called airbombs? They would fire a bomb Into the air and you'd get an almighty bang. One day we lit one and fired it downwards into a milk bottle and then ran to cower in the shed. Imagine the noise of thousands of shards of glass flying in all directions bouncing off the shed walls! That trick was repeated a few times till we decided that one was probably a little dangerous lol.
