Will do mate going this morning as day off and as I haven't got a day off till next Wednesday I should hopefully purchasing oneRossgo wrote:Wow that's great for value Bratty. You got to let us know how you get on with that and if you do get one could you post up some piccies for me. I keep considering getting rid of the car and grabbing a cheap scooter. But the other half says I'll need a car for other bits and pieces but the saving could potentially be a massive one so always in two minds!Bratty wrote:Not sure mate I'm tempted by one of these Chinese moped/scooters, I know I'll get slated for it but there's a dealer in Cannock that does the Pulse range which is one of the better quality models for around £1100 brand new on the road with a 5 year warranty ?Kwacky wrote:You getting another second one or splashing out?

Never thought I'd be recommending a Chinese motorbike after my last experience but this one comes with a 5 year warranty as well.Bratty wrote:

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Nice bike Monty I know someone who had the 125 version and loved it till it was nicked lol, tbh with the traffic getting busier every month on my commute into Brum I'm happy using a twist and go scooter with the stop start riding I have to do and with the 125cc it's a £1 a day in fuel, the scooter I had i paid £500 for but the other guys insurance have given more than double that so in reality I'm only paying £500 for a brand new scooter.Monty wrote:Never thought I'd be recommending a Chinese motorbike after my last experience but this one comes with a 5 year warranty as well.Bratty wrote:

I guess it depends on what's excluded, how much the claims limit is and what excess it may have. Sounds good but always worth looking what there actually selling you.

Tbh it's only the first two years that is parts and labour he then muffled through the other three years but I can't see me having it longer than two years so fingers crossed it should last that long, the one that was written off that I used to commute all winter rain, snow etc was nine years old with 28k on the clock and it started every morning and never let me down.
I get knocked down but i get up again.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Bought an Ohlins rear shock after the Nitron shock was listed for the wrong bike, I have had a full refund so no harm done. Its coming from the US so waiting to see if I get clobbered for import duty etc. Strangely I have ordered quite a few things from the US lately ( for work ) as we are currently fitting out an office for a US company in Canary wharf and we have not had to pay duties etc on any of them ?

I'm sure it will be fine if your looking after it.
Didn't mean to be negative I just don't think some of the after market warranty's are worth the paper their written on. Too many get out clauses plus we have to remember what a warranty is. Its to cover manufacturing defects. These should come to light easily in the first 12 months. I think in general as a nation we buy into the whole aftet atekt warranty confidence scam. My personal view is buy decent, reputable brands who have a proven history and you don't need an extended warranty.
I remember buying a Bosch machining and the guy wanted to sell me an after market warranty. I said I'm buying it because IMO their the rolls Royce of washing machine makers and I have confidence in the brand. If I want an after market warranty I would buy that one over there for half the money and have change spare after buying the extended warranty.
Horses for courses I guess but I m just a grumpy cynical old git.
