The Brits
Why is it being dominated by talk of what the Yanks got up to?
Madonna falling over
Kardashian bint presenting awards
Kayne West using the n*gger word several times during a performance.
Can't we find enough UK talent to present these events?

Re: The Brits
Still pretending the UK is not the 51st state?? Because sadly that is the reality...the commonality of language, the perceived "easy lifestyle", er...the weather?
All very tempting...certainly worked for me.

Re: The Brits
Only watched a bit of it but think Kayne chose the wrong song for that performance...looked like even Ant and Dec couldn't stand it! To be honest the music people listen to nowadays is crap and back in the day then stories were a lot better co ing out of the Brits now all these squeaky clean pop stars are just boring and not worth the time of day...this is why the Americans got the stories...they still have it like Kayne using the N word...it's provocative and head line catching. This is what the Brits are all about haha

Re: The Brits
I don't think modern music is crap, there's a lot of good stuff. There will always be crap and good music, but as you tend to remember the good stuff it's easier to think music was better back in the day.

I'm not an Ed fan but his set at the Brits was fantastic.

Re: The Brits
He gave a really good interview earlier in the week. He basically said that the old rock and roll stuff you used to hear about still goes on, but in this modern age where everything is shared and criticised online it's all hushed up. Basically drugs and sex are still very much in fashion but not bragged about.

Re: The Brits
That's the problem, we've allowed it to become hushed up. It needs to be shown/ said/ talked about. This is how songs are made up when people are drugged/ boozed or fighting. This is why Eminem will always be a great artist. If you ever see some of his interviews he's a very bright guy, but if the up bringing he's had he has a lot to say and stories he can tell. I know he's not British but he's a success story. Ed is a success story. Came from the streets getting pennies from passers by and now he's all then rage. Selling out tours etc etc. Just be nice to see some of these artists being high while on telly in an interview...this is what music's all about! This is what the Brits is all about. Should be stories coming out of people getting wrecked etc.

Re: The Brits
Makes me sick...I was chucked out of a club because I was too drunk and he just walks in to some of the best clubs because of who he is. Totally and utterly...

Yes. No. Maybe.Kwacky wrote:I don't think modern music is crap, there's a lot of good stuff. There will always be crap and good music, but as you tend to remember the good stuff it's easier to think music was better back in the day.
Just what is good music....The Ramones were awesome...yet they made all their money selling t-shirts...Katrina & The Waves' "Walking On Sunshine "....it generates $1m a year in royalties...has done for 30 years...they're set for life!
BTW.....I'd love to know what "i want candy" earns...it must be off the scale.

Re: The Brits
The biggest problem with modern music industry is that once again its run by the money men.
You have to look hard to find decent music as its unlikely you will hear much of it on mainstream radio.

Re: The Brits
Yep very true but there isn't the money to be made from selling music anymore, so they call even more of the shots than ever.Kwacky wrote:Money men have been in the game since musicians signed contracts.
Yes, Monty, but i still wouldn't call it the mainstream as such.
