Re: Cold Weather riding
Brave man. I'm glad I used mine earlier in the week, snowed overnight. It hasn't snowed here for many years, I've never seen it here before

Re: Cold Weather riding
Last nights' cold ride home meant it was a no-brainer this morning. A nice warm drive in the car.

Re: Cold Weather riding
Bike never started yesterday. Battery was too low to turn it over. Charged it up last night, and rode in today.
Was ok. Not too cold. Terrible traffic due to road works though, so glad I did.

Cold Weather riding
Still commuting every day it's only my hands that feel the cold but it's only a 15 minute journey, I'd be lucky to get there in an hour in the car or the bus
I get knocked down but i get up again.

Re: Cold Weather riding
We badly need a good rain to wash all the salt that has collected on the road surface over the last month.

That's why I got the moped mate, still beat all the traffic to work ,the best £500 I've ever spent £5 a week fuel and get to keep the beast looking it's best for the summerPerkles wrote:yes the roads are a mess ,salt, grit and full of potholes, kuodos to anybody commuting by bike in this weather

Re: Cold Weather riding
Definitely Duke, should have done it a long time ago, I've only had it six months so that's nearly £400 on fuel alone before I think about the wear and tear in the cb1r plus I've saved on a set of tyres, putting extra miles on the clock, I have missed her tho and soon as we get double fingers in the weather I'm taking her for a blastduke63 wrote:I would guess that scooter has probably paid for itself already, Bratty.

Hell yes. I resisting for ages, but as I was commuting in 0-2 deg C temps at times over winter I bit the bullet. Wish I'd done it earlier. It actually makes your riding safer I reckon.Frankie wrote:They really are the business.Kwacky wrote:My next commuting bike will have heated grips

Re: Cold Weather riding
Good move getting the scooter Bratty, its a win win in so many areas it would be silly not to have it, and as you say already paid for itself.
I have no experience on the subject but I'm guessing heated gloves would be better than heated grips as your fingers are not always in contact with the grips. Just a thought, plus you keep them when you change bike and with a battery pack can use them of the bike.
