Am I going to regret buying Chinese parts ????
Was just perusing ebay over the weekend, no particular bits in mind but came across seller from Hong Kong, so had a look around the shop, found some front wheel bobbins £ 12,frame bobbins £31 and best of all colour coded rear hugger for the R1 £13 !! All parts a fraction of UK prices and there may be a good reason for that . I stopped at buying their wavy discs ...................I didn't want my safety in their hands !!
The bobbins look real classy, the hugger looked good but at £13 I figured there was little risk, better than paying £95 from UK suppliers !...................................or am I just being overly optimistic that what you see is what you get ???

Hope it works out. I'm considering a Chinese seat cowl for the ten. There £30 on eBay but £260 at stealers which is insane for a piece of plastic.

Plastics I have no problem with. Some of them come from the same factories.
After that I have to think about the importance of the part I'm using. Brakes are a no-no. I only use UK/European companies and buy brands I know and trust.

............................me to, too big a risk without any other info to substantiate the quality. Like I said the wavy discs looked the part but they could be made from "monkey metal "Kwacky wrote:Plastics I have no problem with. Some of them come from the same factories.

If you're buying cheap you take your chances. The race rep plastics and rear seat cowl I had on the cbr was from China and was excellent quality
Some of the early stuff was very poor - it was thin and prone to snapping.

Buy on ebay through paypal, and you should be covered on defective parts. Just get your money back from paypal.

Re: Am I going to regret buying Chinese parts ????
The seat cowls fly off on a regular basis. I think the problem has been solved now but there are loads of posts about it.
As for that youtube clip of the seat cowl that doesn't look like it copies the OEM part. If you get one the same shape as the official part it should fit.

Really? I don't like the look of that. I think I've seen better looking ones kicking about.
Nope, OEM ones.

There is another version of the seat cowl which is an aftermarket part but it's mega bucks and needs other parts of the rear cowl replacing also.
