Irritating adverts?
I'm sure everyone has an advert that grates on them, the one that currently has me reaching for the Mute button is the "You're Booking worth it!" holiday advert, it's clearly intended to sound like a very similar swear word and imho has exceeded the boundaries of what is permissible.
Am I the only one that feels this is inappropriate as a peak time commercial? Or has another advert got up your nose in the past?

I hate all ads on the telly, so much so that most of my viewing has been recorded, as soon as a break comes on I fire up the remote to fast forward (Sky) to 30, count to between 10 and 15 sec and return to program, normally skips all the ads ha ha,, unless it is something at peek time when they double the amount of ads.

FWIW, I completely agree with you on the "booking" advert.

I like some don't watch a lot of telly. I watch more films and even if I am watching telly (like now) I'm reading posts on this during the advert breaks so I miss most of them!!

You also have kids, which only hones that skill further..Kwacky wrote:Having been married for a good number of years I am adept at blocking out irritating background noises.
However, also being married means (in this house at least) that you never get your hands on the remote. My wife has an amazing skill at never watching one single program, but channel hopping through several programs to never see an advert.
You never really learn to swear until you learn to drive.

Re: Irritating adverts?
US channels are dreadful for commercials.......except for the cable channels, which don't show any.....sure, they might throw a plug in for what's on later or sommit, but in general, one movie ends the next begins.
The Military Channel is the only one I watch regularly that does adverts, and even that one I'm leaning away from more & more these days, as those shows don't usually carry a lot of information IMO.

Any of those commercials that promise to make your life so much better by lending you up to £1000 that is paid back at 794% APR.

Re: Irritating adverts?
The best advert is the Marmite one, where they make out that jars of Marmite are being abused and uncared for.
