Re: Is Marc Marquez making MotoGP dull?
Even when he was streets ahead it wasn't dull.. You could see the work being done behind to catch up with him, and now you can really see the work being put in by the previously untouchables just to keep with him..
If he carried on wooping arse for another season with no reply then it might have got a bit boring.

It's only dare if you care about 1st place and don't give a shit about the racing. Even when he's won he's raced for it. Most of the time he's had to fight for that top spot on the podium. MotoGP will never go dull the way F1 does when someone dominates.

I think they ruined F1 when they got rid of refuelling

I'm really enjoying what he's doing to everyone else's game, especially Rossi.

Won the first 10 races in a row and then 2 podiums from thelast 6 races. Times are definitely changing if only briefly.

Either he's not that good or when he's realised he's got the thing sewn up he's trying new stuff out, safe in the knowledge he's world champion.

Re: Is Marc Marquez making MotoGP dull?
I don't think he was trying stuff out he was struggling (by his standards) before he was crowned champion. IMO others especially the Yamaha's and Ducatis have caught up but also he is human and makes mistakes. As good as he is the hype that he could win all 18 races was just media spin IMO.

Re: Is Marc Marquez making MotoGP dull?
He's 21. He won the World Championship last season. He was on the podium for every single race he finished.
He dominated the first half of this season.
His list of records in Moto GP is something else. He's the only rider to win 6 races in a row from pole. He is the youngest ever top level world champion. He's the only rider to win 10 in a row. You have to look to Doonhan and Agostini who did the same before MotoGP. His rookie year smashed loads of records.
This guy is something else. It wasn't media hype. It was right to ask if he could win all 18 races.
I thought Cals bike had no work done to it all season?

I might be wrong but thought some one else did it, wasnt it Kenny Roberts at a guess.Perkles wrote:hes also the 1st to win the world champs in his 1st season, rossi couldnt do that
I m not knocking his talent at all lads. Merely commenting he is human and beatable and the others are catching him up.
If his brother is better which is the rumour god help all the others including Marc

Re: Is Marc Marquez making MotoGP dull?
I think Perkles is talking about MotoGP. A couple of riders have done it before.
Roberts won the 500cc title in the same year he was racing 250cc bikes. Weren't there about 9 or 10 races a season back then?

Re: Is Marc Marquez making MotoGP dull?
google
Márquez won the 2010 125cc World Championship,[2][3] the 2012 Moto2 World Championship,[4][5] and the 2013 and 2014 MotoGP World Championships. Márquez became the first rider since Kenny Roberts in 1978 to accomplish the premier class title in his first season, and the youngest to win the title overall.[6] He defended his title, winning the 2014 championship with three rounds to spare.
