Neighbour Advice Needed
Need some advice about whether I should mention something to my neighbours or not ?
For info we live next to a private nursing home which is a bungalow on our left side. The home is run by about 4 carers most of whom are regulars and we know and get on with. Never had any issues and consider them good neighbours but at the end of the day the carers are only workers there, they are not the real owners and therefore would not have too much interest in property matters I m guessing.
The thing that is concerning me is in the summer they erected a large Gazebo in their back garden. I m under the impression they believe the Gazebo to be a permanent structure to be left out in all seasons as it looks to be fastened down with screws and although the weather turned weeks ago nobody has dismantled.
Now the weather and specifically the winds are picking up the Gazebo is taking a right good hammering and if left I'm confident will be ripped from its insecure mounting points and cause damage to their cars (nursing home owned) and property and possibly mine.
Should I say something and bring to there attention it will be ripped up in high winds causing potential damage or would this be a neighbour sticking their nose in where not needed and I have to wait until damage is done which I m confident will happen and very likely to my car or / and property

Re: Neighbour Advice Needed
If it was me I'd approach the manager in charge and explain what is going on but more in the way of saying that they are going to lose said gazebo if they don't take it down rather than saying it could damage property etc.
Not sure why they want a gazebo up now and I'm pretty sure it would be easy enough to take down and store for the winter.

Unfortunately no contact details for the manager.bb41 wrote:If it was me I'd approach the manager in charge and explain what is going on but more in the way of saying that they are going to lose said gazebo if they don't take it down rather than saying it could damage property etc.

I could tell the Carers and as you saying mention they are going to loose the Gazebo, plus possibly mention it could damage their personal vehicles and that they should report to the land lord

Re: Neighbour Advice Needed
A brief history for you Rocket
I spent my youth growing up in a village that had a huge Mental Hospital and spent a lot of my childhood playing there.
Before I was married I lived next door to a Mental Patient Care in the Community Home.
Now I m married I live next to a care home for older lady's with mental health issues.
Can you spot a trend ? Its probably why we get on so well

If you get on with them I'd have a word. Depends on how windy it gets I guess. I assume it's next to where you park your car?

Re: Neighbour Advice Needed
Not a nosy neighbour mate, all advice given above is sound IMO.
A mate of mine used to live next to an old peoples home. He's a top notch kinda bloke. Occasionally he'd have old ducks knocking on his door asking random questions. he used to walk them back, but on a few occasions they'd talk him into talking them for a walk around the block and check out the neighbourhood gardens and he would oblige. Need more people like that in this world I reckon.

It's not what I'd do personally. I'd tie it to the tow bar of my Santa Fe and drive off.
