Ive just been watching the free practice from Oz, up flashed pictures of Casey Stoner and a caption underneath Moto GP Legend, 2 time winner. Is he really a legend, who would you class as a legend? In any walk of life do you think the word is used too easily? Before you start I'm not having a dig at Mr Stoner I know it's hard to win 1 championship let alone 2, it just got me thinking.
Let's have a list of Legends then we can take the p##$ out of, I mean discuss each other's suggestions!!

It is used too frequently.
Legends for me have to have long standing in what they do. Senna is a legend, Moss is a legend. Rossi is a legend.
Stoner is a quitter

I think Sherlock Holmes and Tarzan are both legends.
I don't mean to burst anyones bubble regarding their status but tbh I'm not 100% sure if either of them ever existed beyond the legend and possibly they are both made up.

He's a Legend in Aussie, and rightly so I reckon, and I'm the first to knock an Aussie if they deverse it. I still think he acted like a pork chop at times, but you couldn't deny he was a top class rider.
And have you seen his wife... legend!

Stoner was a brilliant rider but bailed out far to early to gain legendary status imho

The bloke i went to meet the other night Mr John Lydon is a legend.
The 'hero' word is the one i hate being over used. No sportsman can ever be a hero, at least not in participating in any sport.

Totally, completely, irrevocably agree.

Surprised nobody has mentioned the most famous and influential man who ever lived. Jesus Christ.
