Official information from Kawasaki on their website.
There is a nice 360 degree image of the bike so you view from every angle possible, some photos and video's, plus information on specification and design.

Cheers for the link
I still think it looks very aggressive.
I notice they're very light on information in the specifications section.

Re: Supercharged Kawasaki H2 ninja
Weight is the one thing they seem reluctant to mention. I would guess that a supercharger adds a few kilos.
Its a bike that isn't beautiful but its appeal is in the made-for-a-purpose race looks.

Re: Supercharged Kawasaki H2 ninja
With the supercharger, associated drive assy and general beefing up of everything to cope with the power and torque involved I'd be surprised if it tips the scales at less than 195kilos. However I'd guess they'll move heaven and Earth to bring the dry kerb weight in below 200kg, the psychological ramifications of a bike above that will cost sales and interest.
I could easily see the road going bike being over 200kg though, and tbh it won't matter in exactly the same way no one cared about the weight, reliability etc of the 916, the bike is likely to sell itself.

Re: Supercharged Kawasaki H2 ninja
A Dry kerb weight of 200kg would be 225-230kg wet which is 20-35kg above the rest of the litre class which effect sales IMO. At that weight its not a sportsbikr and more a very fast sport tourer. I can't see how they could make a bike that heavy be agile enough to race or be classed as a sport bike. It would be taking the class back to the dark ages, pre fire blade when power mattered more than weight or handling.

Re: Supercharged Kawasaki H2 ninja
That's nonsense. How can a bike kicking out more than 1 bhp per kg, with a supercharger and full of electronics be "taking the class back to the dark ages"? You're trying to compare it to litre superbikes. It's not going up against those 1000cc supersports road bikes.
And we already know it can't be raced because it's got a supercharger on it. It is not a race bike and it doesn't profess to be taking on WSBK or MotoGP bikes.

Re: Supercharged Kawasaki H2 ninja
All I want is for them to supercharge a 400 in a naked trellis framed bike. I'd then be excited.

Re: Supercharged Kawasaki H2 ninja
Because the class is not about power to weight ratios its about performance and mass and weight distribution are key elements of this.Kwacky wrote:That's nonsense. The dark ages before" power with total control" was when powerful engines propelled heavy lumps of metal called sportsbikes but handle more like supertankers so the lighter less powerful sportsbikes which the 92 Blade followed by the 98 R1 started out performed the old heavy lumpers.
Regardless of how powerful the engine is and what the power to weight ratio is a sportsbike needs a light and agile chassis IMO.
I don't actually hate kwaks quite the opposite if I wasnt looking at buying a sports car I would trade the blade for a zx10r yesterday.

Re: Supercharged Kawasaki H2 ninja
But you're talking about "the class". Kwak have the zx10r in that class. This bike isn't in that class. You're trying to pigeon hole it when there is nothing out there to compare it to.
This is not a road going race bike. It's a nutter machine, a flexing of kwaks biceps to show what they can do. As I said in a previous post it's probably a benchmark or starting point for other bikes. If they thought this was going up against the RSVR or the S1000rr then it wouldn't be the H2R with a supercharger and a SSSA (which always come in heavier) it would be a brand new ZX10R.

Re: Supercharged Kawasaki H2 ninja
Tbh it's probably going to have more in common with the Hayabusa, Blackbird and ZZR1400 class of bike, weight matters in company like that but power is the real pantie dropping statistic.
Mind you that doesn't explain the H2R which is where I suspect Blade is coming from.

Re: Supercharged Kawasaki H2 ninja
I know what your saying Kwacky but as they said a sportsbike I was associating it with that rather than any racing class tbh. To me a sportsbike needs to be light and agile, besides its all hypothetical anyway as no official weight figures released as far as I know.
I admire what Kawasaki have done and as you said a while ago the benefits of different divisions of the company working together will be huge bonus to Kawasaki.
Hopefully it is a high tech show case of technology which will be a catalyst for other bikes benefiting from the h2r technology.
Say that I still want a zx10r

This is the one I like
With Ohlins Mechatronic TTX36 rear shock, quick shifter and Austin Racing Can and rearsets as the first bling I would buy

Re: Supercharged Kawasaki H2 ninja
If i was buying a sportsbike, i would always choose lighter weight over more power.
That said buying a sportsbike should ultimately be about how riding the bike makes you feel.
