Nice little piece about the Brummie accent. It rightly points out that the Black Country accent is often mistaken for the Brummie one.
I'm proud of where I come from. I realise not everyone likes my accent but bollocks to them

Some things sound so much better in Brummie. Telling people I've got a stye in my eye would have sounded rubbish in any other accent

I love regional accents and wish i had one, although I have been asked if I am Australian and a good friend of mine from Liverpool actually calls me Pam Ayres
