Re: Work
Got a dirty email from the company vaccination management onshore team asking why I hadn’t returned my fully vaccinated status to them as per the email dated 17 October, and that I MUST provide it by COB 08 November.
They got an even dirtier reply pointing out that I couldn’t get my second shot while I was home last as THEY required me to mobilise early through quarantine and I hadn’t been back home since 23 September, a good month before they sent out the email. And I wouldn’t be providing that information by their cut off as I’d still be in f**king quarantine!!
I’m booked in for the day after I get home and have been for the last 2 months. They have been informed of that in writing and over the phone more than once.
This new company that bought us out are a complete bag of c**ts.

Re: Work
Is it almost easier that they're straight up twats? That way you can just release all the venom you want on them as they're clearly not providing pleasantries?

Re: Work
My spotlight project is very late.. and very much not working. The top bods have decided to help this by adding an additional and optimistic 6 months of work to the project that needs to be done by Christmas. My manager and I laugh about it but I know he is getting a lot of sh!t thrown at him.
They want us to move the rig into a room that's not really big enough (rig redesign necessary) as a temporary measure, move in the 2nd rig alongside it, and make it work from two openings to the sump which are nowhere near where they need to be.
To help things further, some staff have been updated to 2019 Solidworks, others are on 2017... it isn't backwards compatible. I got the upgrade after pushing for it but now my Flow Simulation add-ins don't work properly.
Ah well.. they'll get their project when they get it and hopefully they don't change their mind again in another few weeks otherwise this project is never getting completed.

Re: Work
I completed my annual review yesterday and started the ball rolling with a secondment request. I hope something comes of it as this role isn't for me but I don't particularly want to leave the company. My manager is a top bloke too so I would be sad to leave really. I'm hoping 3-12 months seconded may also give me another year in this role to further the extended version of my project.

Re: Work
Might be time for me to find a new job after nearly 8 years with the same company. My boss has handed his notice in, he's on 6 months gardening leave and now I'm working for the MD. It doesn't look like they're going to replace him and over the last week they've been sharing out his divisional roles. So far I've picked up marketing and NPI on top of sales. It might sound like a great opportunity, but the MD hasn't got a clue what we actually do and I wouldn't trust the fat **** as far as I could throw him.

Yeah maybe so, I'm due a pay rise and you know what it's like in our industry, you only really get one when you move.Frankie wrote:That's crap, maybe new opportunities on the horizon.Monty wrote:Might be time for me to find a new job after nearly 8 years with the same company. I assume this is for the big stuff and not multi-drop deliveries?

Thank you D6
It will be for the Tesco contact so big deliveries to stores around the area, and a promise of class one training and license within a few months.

So far, written test passed no problems, drug and alcohol tests passed, waiting for a vehicle then it's the driving assessment...
Then finally the interview.

Re: Work
Got the job, they've got to process the paperwork and will get a start date to me asap, probably in the first week of the new year.
