I really didn’t think it was going to go thy way tbh. The Judge hammered the first 3 licence appeals before me, but their records were much worse.C00kiemonster wrote:Blimey. Bet that's a relief!kiwikrasher wrote:Court appearance for licence appeal….

She gave me a dressing down and then sent me off with “this will be the only time the court shows you any leniency, appeal successful, no suspension”

Last 5am wake up… Jess’ last day at the nursing home clinical placement. I’ve been getting up with her and making her breakfast and a good coffee before she leaves.
Then sometime today I have to go and look at her car. Engine light came on while she drove to work and it went into limp mode

I’ve got an OBD2 module on my 4WD. I’ll be able to plug that in and retrieve and clear codes with any luck.
She parked on our steep street last night and it was nearly zero overnight, so wondering if a fluid level somewhere was getting low and tripped a low level with the angle the car was on. Just guessing till I can get to it this arvo

Our office doesn't usually talk much but today, with so many people out (long weekend), I've spoken with the 3 people that are in. Everyone seems extremely unhappy at the minute - with regards to their job and some with their home life too.
Anyone else noticed this trend at their place of work?

I don't think it's just at work, I think pretty much everyone I know is on the edge at the moment

I see France is also looking at a 32 hour 4 day week to try and correct the out of kilter work-life balance.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Is a proportion of this down to the greed of the 0.1%? My parents grew up in households where only the man needed to work to afford their own home. Now, both occupants need to work to own their home, and realistically, both working full time. Meaning that home life is harder than it used to be (although there's an argument that dishwashers and tumble dryers make it even) and therefore there's more inherent stress in everything we do?

Re: What are you doing today ??
It's a good question.
My mom never worked... a job that is - my parents had agreed between one-another that being a housewife, raising kids, etc. was a job in & of itself.... except for a brief period when they were saving to buy their house. But they had a different set of values... both of them came-of-age during WW2, rationing, etc. Different era.

Without intending to turn this thread into a rant, I genuinely detest, loathe and hate this era of instant gratification and sadly I notice myself doing it too.
I just hope this era is short lived. Let's get back to the hippy era please.
