Re: What are you doing today ??
I have had about enough so I have started the ball rolling on getting my class C license (class 2 HGV).
Without going into too much detail a management proposal leaked outlining their future plans for the driving staff, changes to terms and conditions as well as revised hourly rates... I'm out.. they're backpedaling like hell but I can't trust them.

Good for you - you thinking long distance lorry driving?
I've always wanted to get a HGV license - purely to have it on my license and see if i could do it tbh.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I'm thinking relatively short distance so I'm home every day, I have to start with class 2 then do another test for class 1. The money sounds great but my CPC can't carry over so I have to pay for that, and a medical.
I have the middle 2 weeks of July off and want to do the practical training and test then, which means I have to get a move on with the online side and theory test.
Might do a couple of online mock theory tests to see where I need to brush up my knowledge.

Drinking coffee before taking a look at how well my new break off screw has sealed. I've got a delivery coming in after lunch then I can finish some brackets for testing on Tuesday.
After work I'm MTB'ing with colleagues for as long as the weather permits. Supposed to be chance of showers until late.

Hmm. MTB'ing doesn't sound like a bad idea for me either. Hopefully that's a feeling that wears off by breakfast time, but I could definitely use a little spin out..../
Maybe just for an hour or so??

Re: What are you doing today ??
Sat drinking coffee and waiting for a phone call related to the HGV training, I just did a mock theory test with no preparation as my training pack is in the post, just using my own experience and common sense I squeaked through with 43/50, that's the passing grade.
I need to learn about tachographs, oversize loads and HGV trailer air systems. Not unexpected.
I have also been browsing local Class 2 jobs and almost none of them pay less than I'm on now.

Nice stuff! I presume you'll also learn about even loads or biased loads too. I've always been interested in HGV stuff so keep us up to dateStonesie wrote:Sat drinking coffee and waiting for a phone call related to the HGV training, I just did a mock theory test with no preparation as my training pack is in the post, just using my own experience and common sense I squeaked through with 43/50, that's the passing grade.

Spur of the moment getaway about 3 hours west, to a place called Orange. Staying at a quaint motel that looks like it was last renovated in the 80’s from the outside and hallways but the rooms are quite modern and roomy.
Found a cool little bar for a few gins and tomorrow plan to hit the Canobola State Forest 4WD Recreation Area to put the MUX through its paces.

Oh and on the way up passed through Bathurst so did a lap of Australia’s most famous track (which is actually a public road when not used for race meets) it’s on my FB story for those on therekiwikrasher wrote:Spur of the moment getaway about 3 hours west, to a place called Orange. Re: What are you doing today ??
I was unable to go for the MTB ride after work yesterday. I was feeling exhausted by lunch and my legs were heavy AF. I've usually got 3 hours where it can go one way or the other, it didn't work out this time. Bloody M.E.

Reading Cav's comments on Facebook where he's slagging off the Brummie accent.

I had to look her up...... she's a serious babe - her accent sounds great as far as I'm concerned....it's a plus rather than a minus.
