Tyre shine is fine as long as you don't get any of it on the tread. Just do a sidewall treatment and you're good to go.

That's solid advice, BTW.

Bike looks lovely but it'd be a shame to get a £100 fine for that plate. Is there a reflector on there too?

The rear of the bike needs reflectors, if the tail unit has some or they're built into the indicators like some cars you'll be fine.

Ah okay, perspective makes a difference. It's the size of the letters rather than the size of the plate. I used to ride with a 7x5 plate and I avoided getting the fine but others with that size did get fines.

Your photo made me realise how nice the Gen 4 looks though! 8)

BMW's latest trick is to put the reflector above the plate on the standard hanger.

The latest bikes have also gone a bit nuts and done away with the rear light, it's integrated into the indicators now.

Washed it after work, in the dark, my neighbours know I'm not entirely sane so it's okay... What's not okay is that bloody datatool alarm which hates when I wash the bike and goes crazy. I did grease the main wiring plug for it with silicone grease but something else must be triggering it.

Bike's all clean and checked for tomorrow's ride... If the alarm will let it start.

I took the SUV out for a local ride. Only did about 45 miles but it was nice to get out and have a play on some of the country lanes.

First trip to a bike shop in 4 months to have a look at the Multistrada V4.

Nice ride out on the Street on some of my favourite roads. Its the perfect bike for twisting roads.

Multi looks great, feels great but can't test ride it till next weekend. Its tempting though.

A 24K service, but no brake fluid change or coolant change. The brake fluid was done when I did the discs and pads, and I have a new radiator cap on order so I will do it when that arrives.

Valve clearances were okay, some right on the top of spec but that's better than too tight.

The job just didn't seem to end, I'm so out of practice with this I was repeating work and frustrating the hell out of myself so I still have a to-do list for Tuesday. Then getting the tank drain unblocked took an hour of fannying about with a 2mm drill bit in my hand, so water drains from around the filler cap rather than going in the tank.

Replace SAI manifold, it's perished and shocked me when Triumph said £5 and change...
Replace relay mounts, all 6 for £14
Coolant change and rad cap
Chain and sprockets
Starter solenoid, £34... People are selling used ones on ebay for that + postage.

Now I've had a good "getting to know you" session it shouldn't take long... He say's hopefully...

It looks like a bit of a lunatic in disguise, 44 Teeth did a 3 guys, one bike review and seemed to love it.

Met Frankie for coffee and a bacon bap. Put the world to rights.

Nipped round to see Perkles and used his muscle to crack the bar ends off the bike.

Fitted the Rizoma bar ends and mirrors.
