Re: What are you doing today ??
Looks like they've opted for a warranty repair. It's possible to reverse screen burn through exciting the pixels or with dedicated software. I suspect that's what they'll do with a screen replacement being the next step if that fails. I still have the original screen protector on 1 year later.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Got sent home early, the buses got recalled to the depot because of the snow and couldn't have us all hanging around because of social distancing.
The car handled it well, I had to use back roads because all the main roads were blocked by accidents. It even has a Snow Mode for the traction control, I don't think it helped much to be honest but the Goodyear all season tyres made pulling away, even hill starts easy. Other cars were obviously not enjoying traction...

Pah.
My Z4 was awesome in the snow. Light weight (for a beema anyway), front engine, rear wheel drive, manual, TC off !!!!
Obviously you had to be comfortable with the rear wheels not necessarily inline with the front ones

Re: What are you doing today ??
My old E30 was a snow beast, it had all new suspension, 2.8 litre engine and a limited slip diff, great fun in the snow with some cheap winter tyres it was pretty much unstoppable, and with the engine fun was just a flick of the right foot away..
This Peugeot 2008 is not as much fun, it's just very competent and even relaxing to drive.
The bus, a 16 year old Volvo was okay, except the time it started sliding backwards down a hill with the handbrake on, the foot brake brought the front brakes in to play which stopped it, but then how to get going again? the tyres look like cartoon tyres (a slick with some zigzags running around it) so I just nailed it, spin em up and melt the ice was the thought, and it worked
I imagine the driver behind me was more like
Buses are not legally required to have winter tyres in the UK, so they don't get them.

Re: What are you doing today ??
My old Fiesta was a beast in the snow with Rain tyres. You could get it sideways on demand and it would scamper up most hills.
My front wheel drive Audi wasn't too great in comparison but when it did slide it was beautiful!
I haven't driven the Leon in the snow yet but given how it grips in the wet I think it should be comparable to the Fiesta. It weighs 200kg more than the fiesta and it's tyres are each 40mm wider. Hopefully that's a similar ratio

Re: What are you doing today ??
Most surprisingly good car (in the snow) that I can recall owning was a Honda CRX that I had in the early 90's.
Weighed nothing, engine was a peach & the handling balance was perfect. Best one I recall was carving along a snowbound lane past abandoned 4x4's, keeping "the momentum going"

Re: What are you doing today ??
My Van with snow tyres is better than my old Landrover in the snow and that had all-terrain tyres and obviously 4 wheel drive. But the best car I've driven in the snow by far was a 2CV. Very narrow tyres that cut through the snow and second throttle on the steering column, so you could get out and push

Re: What are you doing today ??
Our Citroen C1 was brilliant in the snow (still is but we dont get much here). As with the 2CV - low weight, tiny tyres. Very satisfying going round 4x4's stuck on hills.

Back to work on some untreated roads, thankfully most of my routes have been salted at least... And today's Streetshite (Wrightbus Streetlite) at least has new front tyres.

Ha ha like my old man (bless him) He always wanted KFC lol.
Today - Woke up, trained, bike ride (in house on static stand) flat out for 30mins dead... and I was after, warm down exercises. Then a long hot bath.
The rest of the day I will be at home being safe. I have taken a nice steak out the freezer to defrost, ready for prep in time for tea.
Have a nice weekend.
