Back online!!!
Jess and I got back Wednesday afternoon from a few days away to find a lightening storm had fried our internet/phone connection. That puts us fully in the dark as we have no mobile reception and the phone service is VOIP tied to our Broadband.
The kids were not impressed.
But to their credit the telco I’m with since I swapped to broadband, logged the fault and had a tech here less than 48 hrs later ON NEW YEARS DAY! He was even an hour early for the scheduled appointment. Changed out the connection box that got cooked and was sorted.
The telco then called me to make sure there were no outstanding issues and closed the case. Brilliant service.

Reported an abandoned vehicle. It happens to belong to my cousin. The same cousin with whom we have provided much help with recently.

Got everyone up early and drove 2 hours south well away from all the COVID outbreaks in Sydney and spent the day at a waterslide park. Being mid week though still school holidays, and being on the cool side, the lines were minimal and we got more than our fills worth of rides during the day. Spend the full 7 hours that it’s open there and only had an hour off for lunch. Kids and adults will sleep good tonight.

Ah no, apart from the moral reasons, phones/cameras and water slides don’t mix.Jack wrote:kiwikrasher wrote: The eye candy in bikinis was worth the entry fee alone

The course I was supposed to do for Solidworks Composer (the same software that is used for creating IKEA's instructions) was full so now I'm trying to teach myself how to use it from various YouTube videos. It's slow going but I'm getting there.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Disappointed, after my phone drove me mad yesterday with a deluge of weather warnings for Snow, not a single flake, it's just a dim, damp and miserable day.
Also had the Hospital call me to arrange a telephone consultation at the back end of February, I can't commit to that without a time as I drive for a living and they can't commit to a time or date to suit me, so they are sending a letter so I can call back to arrange it for a time and date to suit me I know they are under a lot of pressure but that seems a bit daft.
Next on my not busy at all today agenda is to go and pick up my parents prescriptions and a few groceries from the local shop.
Also got a little cannon to fit to the bike, should be short enough to let me fit that bloody pannier.

Re: What are you doing today ??
This is standard practice. I've had to do it a few times too. The system works great for those who are flexible which is probably the majority of the people they send appointments out to.Stonesie wrote: they are sending a letter so I can call back to arrange it for a time and date to suit me I know they are under a lot of pressure but that seems

Re: What are you doing today ??
Usually I am pretty flexible but at the moment I can't even nail down what I'm doing next week, it's my company's upper management getting the run around from the government (who are financially supporting the bus industry so are calling the shots).
We think that services will be reduced and some of the drivers furloughed again, but we don't know for sure.
Yesterday I was driving a school bus, from a closed school so no chance of any kids getting on.
