Camera mounting positions

D6's post reminded me that I trued the camera on Jane's CBR600rr.

I used the sucker mount on the left front side panel. The camera was in the waterproof case.

There was loads of vibration. I've not had a play with the footage yet to see what I can do at the edit stage. I also need to look at camera settings to see if there's an anti wobble feature.

Anyone got any tips on how and where to place a camera to reduce the vibration? The tank is a no-go as it's a black screen.

I think (if its the asame as mine) half of the issue is the waterproof case.

The bit that screws into the bottom of the case then attaches to the mount, is not as solid and tight fitting as the black versions for the camera holders when not using the waterproof case.

I need to retry mine filming without the waterproof case and see what the result is.

Arent they the ones you mount on the yoke? So wouldn't it be pointing towards my black screen? Plus the damper might be in the way.

Bob Telfer will make the mount to go more or less anywere you can think.

For instance he will replace any bolt with a RAM Mount.

The camera I had at Donnington was mounted on the right hand side fairing panel and there is virtually no vibration what so ever. It was mounted with a double sided sticky pad of some sort and then just a slide in mount.

I would try and make sure that there are as fewer mechanical joints between the bike and the camera.

im in the same predicament .... I tried mounting on the mirror but it vibrates too much

I was looking last night and found a mount that replaces a fairing bolt

i used to have a bullet camera before all this hdpro stuff and i mounted using Velcro under the front nose cone no vibration at all

I've got some velcro stuff. I'll have a look at that.

Mine now is stuck on the orange stripe that leads to the air intake (between the white painted headlights). No vibrations that affect the camera

ive just ordered a suction cup for mine,how strong do they stick to fairing panels ?

They won't move if it's as good as the one I've got.

Hmmmm maybe too much polish as I've tried an old SatNav mount on the tank it is won't stick

Velcro works for me, not come off yet.
