Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
I may have got my bike a little brother
I've been offered a 125 cc scooter for the price of a new set of tyres for my CB1R, it's got a few marks on it but it's an 06 model about 16k on the clock, got a years tax £17 mot till end of September, online quote putting the value down at £500 I got fully comp £93 with Bennets with £100 access, at the moment it's being used to commute from West Brom to Birmingham town centre 5 days a week and it's £5 a week in fuel !!!!
Tbh I've wanted to get something like this for a while as never liked using my bike to commute especially when the winter comes so hopefully it'll be mine after the weekend, I may post pics even if it's for you lot to take the piss

That sounds ideal. You can run it into the ground and you'll still have saved money.

Sounds good Bratty I would jump at, but the insurance sounds expensive I only got charged £25 to add my ZX6R onto my Blade's policy.

Scooters are a high risk due to theft and crashes. Kids ride and kids nick them

They wouldn't let me add it to my other bikes insurance so I had to do a separate search but I didn't think the £93 was that bad.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Great idea, running a decent bike on a short commute isn't a smart move for the motor and exhaust. Re parking it up, the rattier it is the better - scratches and dings all over it mean it's less likely to be stolen and stripped for spare bodywork. Especially round Brum, I've heard they're a dodgy lot round there.

You really shouldn't tar them all with the same brush Deegee.Deegee wrote:..... Especially round Brum, I've heard they're a dodgy lot round there.
Just because the only ones we have much experience of are on here, doesn't mean there aren't probably plenty of well adjusted folks around there.
Possibly.
Perhaps...

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Cheers guys, pretty happy with it. Glad we don't have your guys noise limitations at the track here because this thing is fooking loud!
Can't bargain with a fellow tight arse kiwi thou. Had it on the trailer, handed him $5K cash, said 'so you right with an even 5?' He looked straight at me and said, '5,2 is the price, no skin off my nose if I take it back off the trailer'. No malicious, cheeky grin as he said it. Bit hard to play tough when he got a phone call and a text about the bike while I was there. He also had another guy keen that was waiting to see if i took it or not.
Here it is at home. Snuggled in, just need damn eBay people to come pick up the furniture they've bought!!

IMO a good deal is one that benefits both parties mate, & I reckon you benefited plenty with that cracking bit of kit.kiwikrasher wrote:..Can't bargain with a fellow tight arse kiwi thou. The zx6 track fairing had a hole were I cut the fairing to put the headlight in so today I fibre glassed it up not the best job but it's better than a big hole.
Also put the quick shifter back on the zx as I took it off to sell or put on the rsv. Just need to test it now.
