Because nothing says "well done government" than temporary morgues, mass graves and field hospitals"?

Try asking my brother about his problems at the moment. He is having to do all the Government wants but they have no idea on the costing, the availability of what they are asking for or indeed staff to work in them. And if i mention PPE availability to him, I just get a mouthful of expletives.

I very much doubt the Govt or at least those running it currently, will survive this.

well all this has shown offshore personnel how important personal hygiene is.

Normally this time of the year there would be colds and the occasional flu going around the platform and try as you may it's enviable you pick something up from time to time. We are just like a cruise ship environment.

Due to the hyper vigilance and increased hygiene measures that EVERYONE is now following there is not even one sniffle out here, it's fooking amazing. Hopefully everyone joins me in being a OCD germaphobe hand washer after all this passes.

Haven't heard anything about the young lady next to me about her illness. The nan is self isolating and all family members in this estate have all closed their doors too but I have noticed the young lady car hasn't been there. I guess she got over whatever it was she had and back working in in hospital now. Glad of it as well shes only young

Friend of the family has just past away in a care home from cv19.

I've know the chap all my life and had many a holiday with their family and our family, hits home hard when you can connect to the statistics.

RIP Kevin and stay safe everyone.

Sorry to hear that Blade. RIP

Did anyone see the BBC news this morning? They were taking to care home owners and workers. It was heartbreaking.

Very sorry to hear your news, Blade. I know someone who works in a care home and the situation in her residency is dire.

Sorry for your loss.....
I watched the news yesterday when they were talking to care homes, seems the is as eurowide issue, hence my post.
As I am sick and tired of the news in the UK, I have been watching Good Morning Europe, seems to include the U.S as well lol...

Really interesting how things are going in mainland Europe, Sweden dont seem to give a crap about it, everyone still out and about!
Whisky seems to protect you from COVID-19,,,,,, of course this has been disproved, but many think it to be the case lol.

Seems a few countries are now reducing restrictions and opening shops, so long as you are wearing a mask.

Malta is allowing hunting to start for Quail .....

As I say this news is very informative and varied, unlike the BBC at the moment, either tearing into someone, or kissing their arse, and the worse of all, asking the same bloody question when it has already been answered !!!

Plus the news anchor, has something about her as well ..... Rosie :P

Here's a question for you, Perkles... Do you work the hours or work the work? Meaning, you get an 8 hour day done in 3, do you stop working after that?

It's taken 1-2 hours out of my day sometimes but I still feel bad for finishing even just 15 minutes earlier (if the next job to do is going to take hours there's no point starting it).

I get done what I have to do which is usually a 12 hour day and a few hours each weekend mostly Sunday evenings which is prep for the following week
I have never worked to a clock in any job I have had ,if you clock watch you need to find another job or retire to the maldives

I work hard but I like to get the job done and stick to my hours if possible. If I choose to work at a slower pace then I would happily stay on longer.

So long as the jobs get done and my boss is happy

I liked the whole Maldives idea, TBH.

Then I looked it up, and there's about 150,000 people living on an island the size of a tennis court, in the middle of the Indian Ocean, about 4 inches above sea level. I think not.
