Kiwikrasher going mad in a 4x4m box
So thought I might as well start a fresh thread. I know a lot of other people are in lockdown as well but I think being confined to a single room for the duration is going to be a tad challenging so thought you guys can have a front row seat to my descent into madness.
If anyone has Snapchat I’m posting stuff up on my story.
One win is the barista coffee this morning wasn’t terrible, but think I’ll get a extra shot tomorrow.
Breakie is very limited offering, but I won’t starve. Not going to worry about lunches, just saving bits from breakfast for a snack later.
The hotel Manager rang to see how I was doing so I mentioned the dinner situation. Also asked about possibility of wearing mask and gloves to exit the hotel later at night when no one is about to go for a walk.
While I’ve been typing this post I got a call back and have been given permission to do so!!!

Re: Kiwikrasher going mad in a 4x4m box
Dinner tonight was much better and warm!! Or maybe been half cut on gin helped
Southern fried chicken burger
Today’s biggest event was securing supplies.
A bit of ringing about and I found out that in the Northern Territory due to the issues with the indigenous population and alcohol you can’t get booze delivered up here. And supermarkets won’t deliver to a hotel.
So bit of lateral thinking and I signed up to Airtasker and within 15 mins I had a personal shopper for $40
He ran about for 2 hours as my favourite cider was hard to get up here. He found the last 12 bottles and then sourced a 10 pack of a good alternative to supplement. Got me tonic for my gin I had brought with me and a selection of snacks. While all this was going on, I thought “I need sounds” so he then found me a Bluetooth speaker.
I’ve got his direct number now and he said next shop will be $35 without going through Airtasker.
Company doctor came and did a check up on me. Temps all good and no symptoms. 5 days since contact now. He is working at the pandemic centre and said I’ve got more chance of catching it off him
There is only 6 cases up here in the NT, they doing a good job of isolating the state. In contrast, NSW where I’m from it’s over 1000.
One more hour till my night time walk so off to plot a course

Re: Kiwikrasher going mad in a 4x4m box
I have my iPad and a Netflix, Stan, Amazon Prime, Disney and MotoGP subscriptions. But today I was so busy organising supplies and chatting on the phone. Had a huge chat to my dad, longest I’ve talk to him in years. Chatted to Jen ( ground zero) for a bit as well since she’s in the same boat as me, confined to a room. So other than some news I’ve not watched anything!C00kiemonster wrote:At least you can go for a walk now!

You've got some pretty good food presentation skills there!!
I bet you were "Hey, how'd that very small bottle of milk get in there? Who messed up my order??"

Nah the milk is on purpose. I get a bit of reflux and sometimes the milk will settle it down without having to use an anti acid.D41 wrote:You've got some pretty good food presentation skills there!!

The walk wasn’t as enjoyable as I thought it would be. Still bloody 28 deg at 10pm and 84% humidity. Plus I don’t have a drink bottle with me so was parched by the time I got back. Also I had a nice little gin buzz before I left and now I’m stone cold sober

Re: Kiwikrasher going mad in a 4x4m box
Breakfast was worse then yesterday, the muesli was like half set concrete. I got an extra shot in my coffee so that kinda made up for it.
Dad rang again, he knows I’m trapped. After an hour and barely getting a word in I told him work were calling and cut him off. He’s been locked down at home for 8 days so he’s starting to go nutty.
During that call 3 other people tried to call me so spent the rest of the morning on the phone catching up.
Had my health screening and still all good. 80% of people have symptoms by this stage.
It’s 3pm and I couldn’t resist. On the ciders now. Watching “The Chaser” UK version.

Didn’t go for a walk tonight, didn’t fancy dodging bats flying out of bushes at me while I’m this pissed.
Day 3, over and out!

Strolling around drunk with bats Stuka-diving at you sounds like epic fun to me. Should've gone for it!

Should’ve gone for the walk last night.
There’s been an update to the rules and legally I can’t leave my room now.
Still symptom free and temp check all ok today

Re: Kiwikrasher going mad in a 4x4m box
Well apparently I can leave my room because I’m being evicted. They are closing the hotel down
The is a resort across the road that they also own and that’s staying open so I’m mask and gloving up and moving across shortly

Seems to me that you'll perhaps be better off staying on the rig for the next 6 months or so.?
