Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
The NBA is going to be playing their games without any fans attending.
The coverage this thing is getting is unreal. It's 24/7, across all the networks...or at least it seems like it.
Talk about "hitting the panic button"..../

Well, there you go, someone actually said it.
He's talking about your Mum, Dad, Grandad, Grandma and possibly your children if they have health issues.

Yeah, well....the soon-to-be-unemployed Jeremy might want to bear in mind that just because something CAN be said, doesn't mean that it SHOULD be said.
I think he's a bit of a w@nker, TBH.

Yep, 'fraid so Monty.Monty wrote:You OK boomer?
Seems it was probably just a bit of a sniffle, boosted by my overactive nocturnal imagination.
Either that or I've just shrugged it off, like a snowflake.?

Son's driving instructor has been diagnosed with pneumonia.
She is in her thirties.

Is that as a result of Covid-19, or just coincidence mate ?duke63 wrote:Son's driving instructor has been diagnosed with pneumonia.

Seems that the chances of not transferring the virus between instructor & pupil in the confines of a car must be pretty slim.?
Anyway, hoping she recovers rapidly & that your family figures out a workable strategy going forwards,
P.S. - I'd have loved to have had a female 30 something driving instructor back when I was 17

I think we are past the stage of worrying about who has come into contact with who now.

So you're not running with the government's current "delay the spread by self containment" strategy then.

Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
Just read through my COVID-19 self screening for pre-mobilisation to work (10 days away).
If myself or anyone in close contact has even the slightest sniffle in the 14 days before work I’m supposed to declare it.
I’m currently dealing with a bad head cold. Jess has the same and my daughter has a cough.
No one has symptoms that aligns with COVID-19.
After the drama with my knee and the fact I only have 2 days sick up my sleeve I’m not telling them shit.

Happiness is not a destination. It is a way of life.

The hype around this thing has gotten out of control....at which point I think that qualifies it as pure hysteria.*
* Great album, BTW.

Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
It’s gone beyond that. All the Government is worried about is that the Nation is about to find out that the NHS is unable to cope with the crisus it’s about to face due to 10 years of austerity.StMarks wrote:duke63 wrote:I think we are past the stage of worrying about who has come into contact with who now.

Fwiw I'm not convinced that the NHS would be in a fit state to cope with this sort of pandemic, whatever level of funding it had been been allocated.?duke63 wrote:....It’s gone beyond that. Presumably we should all just try to help alleviate the pressure, by doing our best to slow the rate of spread.

Re: Coronavirus - hype or pandemlc?
Pretty much nails it. No health agency in the world is set up to inoculate almost an entire population all at once. It's beyond feasible.StMarks wrote: Fwiw I'm not convinced that the NHS would be in a fit state to cope with this sort of pandemic, whatever level of funding it had been been allocated.?
