Jess in tow, nice kid free week together, hotel room on the company .......... and she comes back from the toilet in the Qantas lounge and announces she’s got her monthly
It was too late to get a refund on the tickets

Last day of course today, so once that’s done it’s time to get messed up tonight, if we can stay awake . With the 3 hr time difference to Sydney we’ve been crashing at 9-9.30pm each night.

Has anyone of you in here gone from 2 cars in your household down to 1?
Now I'm working so close to home I need a petrol car. Both mine and my wife's cars are approaching their "use by" date and we're looking at taking out a small amount of finance on a "do it all" car.
I've done the math for tax, insurance and finance and just on those two things the 1 car is going to cost £80/month extra. What I haven't factored in is the cost of failing MOTs, repair, etc. and I'm not too sure how to put a figure on that.
The new car is the perfect 1 car solution but I keep finding myself jumping to man maths.
It's a 4 year old Seat Leon Estate, 1.4TSi, DSG, Cruise and Full LED lights... everything I want from a car. It's sat at 40k miles so there is no reason for us to ever replace this car. It's big enough to start out family plus the dog and great for towing (trackdays). Going down to 1 car will be awkward every now and again but the Wife is happy to walk to work more and I could cycle sometimes too.
I'm trying to work out if £80/month is worth it given that I'll be putting £3k of my redundancy into the car.
Cav, I thought work was only 15 minutes away? Is that by car?
I don't know your circumstances and where you both work, or if you both work, or where you're families are, or your work shifts, who does the shopping, if you've got relatives to look after etc.
Even with me commuting on a bike we've needed two cars. But we've got kids, both my job and my wife's job need us to travel (Sam more so than me) so we couldn't have 1 car.
