I'm sure you fully understand the underlining of the comment where racist is used. It's really not an argument. Its effectively saying anyone who has voted Tory is a racist.

I'm really not here to have an argument please understand that. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and a vote please dont drag in a very big word with huge connotations

The point being made is that Boris Johnson is openly racist and people are condoning that.

Fair enough. We need not speak about this no more as it's fairly depressing

Now turning this thread again to a more lighter note

I shall let everyone get back to moaning and saying how they will leave the country tomorrow afternoon, passports at the ready, a nice Easy jet flight on standby for the masses

I agree that BoJo and many of his chums in Westminster are racist. There will probably be a lot of people voting on racist undertones, and many others based on xenophobic undertones.

Brexit is a mask for many, not all, to exercise these beliefs and fears, and so many voting Tory is (probably) the result of this.

There will also be many people who have voted Tory based on their positive record in office and their manifesto.

Judging by the first result at Blyth the poll is right labour loss. They have held the seat since 1950....

Well that's that then.

No credible opposition has allowed the Torys in again. Congratulations to them.

Corbyn and Co have succeeded in the biggest defeat since the 1930s

Lib dems didn't even get their leader elected.

I'm glad the DUP got a kicking.

The UK will be a very different place in 5 years time.

Whatever your voting preference, no opposition and sweeping promises all across the spectrum is very very unhealthy.

Good luck to us all.

You don't think that now he or she has won the seat, that they might move house or maintain an office in Stroud??

Nope. I spoke to someone who personally asked her why she doesn't live in Stroud and her reply was, "it would cost too much". Stroud is cheap to live in unless you venture toward the Cotswolds. When I spoke to her she looked very uncomfortable in her surroundings.. ex council house surroundings.

She's an ex-lawyer so has money and she doesn't want to move from where she is

There was an article a few weeks ago after that bloke on the TV reckoned earning £80,000 p.a. didn't mean he should be paying more tax and he was not that well off.

The average earnings of qualified accountants are circa £35k and qualified lawyers circa £40k.

I certainly think there will be another Scottish referendum on the coming months. The SNP. Have taken a good few seats and guys momentum. Ireland will be an interesting one to watch, without Ireland BJ's plan is in tatters so what/how much will he give them to play along?

We've got a lot of qualified lawyers here at work whose salary is in the twenties. It's a competitive market and firms are squeezing hard on wages.
