£135 fitted for a replacement rear. I think that price has sealed it, I may as well get it done.

Agreed. It's booked in for this Saturday. I might only get a few more rides on the MV this summer but I won't have to worry about the rear running out of rubber.

That seems a pretty decent deal. Is that for a loose wheel??

It's "the wait" that would seal it for me. The local dealer will do a loose wheel more or less right then & there. On the bike & it's there all day & when they feel like it, and $$$ more.

This place books you in a time slot, so you know what time they'll start and the price is fixed. I would sooner wait for them to do it than faff about changing wheels on a bike but I can understand why people would want to do it themselves.
The place I go to are very good. They get the spec books out and torque everything to manufacturers specification. Then there's a check sheet you both go through to make sure it's all been done.
I don't have the kit to remove a rear wheel from the MV and it's not cost effective for me to buy it given how infrequently I'm likely to get the tyres changed.
