Re: Guy Martin back on our TVs
You would not believe how many hours I’ve slept in the back of C-130’s tripping around NZ, Aussie and Asia Great aircraft.
My first year in Aussie I was working on them doing major structural repairs and replacements. Really enjoyed that work.
I like Guys stuff, hope it’s on a platform I can access.

C130 had to be the most recognizable cargo plane ever....along with the Skytrain, probably.

Then the Yanks packed it with weapons and created the AC-130

There's some awesome videos on YouTube of these things in action.

Re: Guy Martin back on our TVs
You know why that plane is so brilliant.....a "normal" attack aircraft like that would make a bombing run in a straight line, and then fire/drop it's bombs, or whatever.
The Spectre has all it's weapons mounted on one side, and then just flies around the target blasting it for as long as it needs to. Very simple but clever thinking behind that.

Very interesting.
Now do it again with loads of people out to kill you before you even hit the ground.

Re: Guy Martin back on our TVs
To be fair to him he did say that near the end of the show.
I enjoyed it. It was good to hear from the men who were there.

Yes he did. Wasn't a dig at him but just that the reality for these young men must have been very different.
Jumping out the plane was the easiest part of all for them.

I still need to watch this. Clearly it was good. I do lile Guy Martin he has pushed himself to get into a different role on telly. Think he is the ideal bloke for this. I'll have to watch this soon

The way that was portrayed on 'Band Of Brothers' is one of the scenes that really stands out.duke63 wrote:Very interesting.
