Re: What are you doing today ??
I was a bit bored today so after a bit of diy and mowing the grass a quick check of the forecast said rain for the 6th day on the trott. So I got in the car and went bike browsing, not looking to buy but it passed an afternoon.
At the local BMW dealer I got chatting to a salesman and kept in mind to only show interest in the new R1250RS which is not out yet, "No not until September. But we do have the 1250R on demo, it's 95% the same bike just in naked form with different bars, would you like to take it out for 2 or 3 hours to see if you like the new engine and dash?"
For free... How can I refuse, I was going to work my next day off but this sounds a much better way to spend a sunny Wednesday. I very nearly bought a R1200RS last year but couldn't quite convince myself about the dash, they've managed to make the speedo hard to read at a glance on the previous models but all the new ones have a TFT dash.
It has less power than the KTM but "Near as makes no difference" the same torque and similar weight, should be interesting.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Bloody hard day today. Started with the 5 mile trail race, I'm so unfit. Managed just under 45 mins but was hanging ask the way.
Then got home, showered, and spent the afternoon sorting the front garden out. The popped out to pick up a new push bike for the boy. He decided that today he was going to cycle, and did.
Now chilling with a glass of wine.

I dont have the version that can run from.a battery pack but I do have the version that runs off the bikes battery and I love them. Literally keeps you toasty through the real cold times. Would be a great investment if you ask meD6Nutz wrote:Went to swap lids and did a bit of window shopping while I was there.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Went to Mallory for EMRA today but also to meet my mate and his little girl Kezia , it's her birthday tomorrow , we took her racing to Donington 2 years ago and she took a liking to a young female racer Jodie Fieldhouse ,who has raced at BSB and TSGB and used to do some pitbiking , anyway I've known her for a few years so arranged for her to sign a print of an image I shot of her for Kezia's birthday . we did this this afternoon , Kezia also got a keyring and a sit on the race bike for a photo with Jodie . She was over the moon and a little starstruck and I am very happy that I could do that for her , made my day .
my mate posted this shot of her on FB , you can see how happy she is .

Did my taxes, 2 days before the cut off without getting fined
The accountant I have used for 9 years, her son had been punched in a bar, shattered his nose and eye sockets, cheeks and a half round in his skull above his nose. Total mess. She showed me the 3D scans pre & post op. I didn’t know it was possible to get that much metal in one head. He can’t taste or smell any more, and he’s dealing with PTSD. He’s 23. Poor fecker. Put my own problems in a bit of perspective.

Shit. Not good. Is there a compensation scheme in Aus for this sort of thing?kiwikrasher wrote:Did my taxes, 2 days before the cut off without getting fined

I’m not sure to be honest. I know most of his medical costs are covered but to get anything more I think he’d have to sue the guy independently and he’s a broke arse lout so would be a dry well after all that effort anyway.Kwacky wrote:Shit. We have a criminal injury compensation scheme here in the UK which allows certain types of victims of crime to make a claim.kiwikrasher wrote: I’m not sure to be honest.
