Joyda Leathers
After Dale recommended Joyda Leathers to me a few weeks ago I decide to pop over and see if the could repair my crash damaged 1pc Leathers.
We agreed on the following work for £115. Replace the blue back panel and also the white shoulder panel. If they have a replacement Alpinestars logo they will also replace that. Other work is reinforce a bit of scuffing on the legs, replace part of the under arm stretch panel and repair all damaged seams that need re sewing.
I was showed some example of work which looked very good and I have heard good reveiws so hopefully in a week or too I will also be happy with the results.
They did comment that older stuff was worth repairing as the newer kit they get in for alteration's was not made to the same high standards. Not sure if that's sales pitch or not but for £115 I thought they were worth repairing. They won't be perfect and will still have a fee small scuffs but to get my one piece back for that price I'm hoping it will be worth it.

That's a good price.
Is that marking on the spine where your back protector rubbed on the tarmac, Blade? Looks like you gave the earth a good thump.

Re: Joyda Leathers
The marking is actually about 10 holes where the leather wore through against the back protector. Did it jobs though, well apart from a broken collar bone but don't think leathers can protect from that.duke63 wrote:That's a good price.

Yeah I was happy with the price. Didn't haggle just accepted it as thought it was a fair price and don't want then cutting any corners to save a fee bob. Its safety equipment at the end of the day so has to be done rightly IMO.

Re: Joyda Leathers
I wonder how long before we are all riding round with airbags to protect the collar bones?

Re: Joyda Leathers
I was going to get a speed hump put on to repair the damage but they made a very good comment imo, in that in the event of an accident you can't be laid flat if you have a speed hump on.

Blade, given the extent of work it's a good price and they will be good as new. A lot cheaper than new ! Anyway old leathers that are moulded to shape are worth their weight in gold ! Next time keep it rubber side down L OL

Not sure if I missed it but how were the repairs Blade? Did you drop off the suit or post it and how long did it take? Need a couple of bits sewing up on mine.

Re: Joyda Leathers
I dropped them off mate as only a 40 min drive for me and then had the ability to discuss options and my ideas in person.
I think they had them for a week, certainly no more. Good service and quality work IMO.

If you visit them you might think crikey this is not what I thought it would be like. But they did a good job for a fair price and that's what counts.
