I've been meaning to catch up with you Kiwi but glad to hear it's going well !!
I'm just setting up to get started on my dissertation, then I have family coming over and a mate dropping off his Daytona 675 to my workshop so he can work on it before Portimao - I can go and put stickers on it later!
Finished work a couple hours ago and the beginning of my holiday begins....not going away just me and my misses have a few days off off so going to enjoy the days

Indeed, that’s sometimes a trap with shift work. Because you have larger than the standard weekend as a work break you always feel like you have to make the most of it and end up busy the whole time. But after working a crap load more hours in your work cycle than a standard week you do indeed just need to chill sometimes and recharge. Took me a while to learn that and I have no guilt in just having a lazy day here and there.
Happiness is not a destination. It is a way of life.
Dropped my misses car off for a service. Then we headed off to Basingstoke to go to iFly (indoor sky diving). What a fantastic day. It's only a minute each flight and I had 3 flights (1 was VR). This was my birthday pressie but last tome was canceled due to snow in feb!) and I really enjoyed it. Never felt as comfortable doing something since the first time I threw my leg over a bike on the CBT (learner training day for kiwi who may not know what the CBT is!) 8 years ago. Would love to do it again but to do a little more and to try turning mid air or something. Highly recommend doing it
Came into work for a couple of courses ad my validation is about to expire. It's long!! But same time I get rewarded for it as will get time back for these so don't mind so much at the moment I could take off early one night from work with this accumulation of hours which would be nice
Had planned a full day spannering in the garage but with running errands and sorting other sh1te and replying to emails, I've managed 2 hours in the garage.
Sorry to hear that Stonsie but to be fair I know some companies don't offer first time around, they wantbto see how eager you are etc so maybr next yesr will be your year for it
