Re: What are you doing today ??
I've sacked off the morning run in exchange for writing another 400 words of my dissertation. The puppy doesn't mind, as soon as I turned the laptop on she was straight back to bed with my fiancé.
I'm doing this until FP3 starts then I'm off to the workshop to finish putting my bike together with that playing through my speakers

Re: What are you doing today ??
Stupid question.....
But I'll be doing an oil and filter change soon and recieved OEM OIL filter, plug and crush washer from a genuine dealership which I've used a fair few times in the past for different bits and pieces
However I'm stumped but this type of washer, I was expecting a standard flat washer no different to any others I've had in the past but this time I've recieved, what could only be described as a double one.
Pics attached
Crush washer - one side almost flat (indented side)
Crush washer - one side rounded side
Drain plug
Which way does it go on the plug?
Indented side to the sump
Rounded side to the bolt head
Or other way around
Hope the explanation and pics are clear!!

Re: What are you doing today ??
Fwiw I always fit that style of crush washer with the large rounded face towards the sump (1st pic) on the grounds that the largest surface area is against the largest face.
Having said that, I may have always been doing it wrongly (even though I've never known for one to leak on me).
Someone like Degee is bound to know the definitive answer, & I'll be interested to learn too Rossgo.

Re: What are you doing today ??
I was surprised when I saw it, I thought it would be a standard type of washer like every other manufacturer does but when I saw that I just thought there had to be a correct way of fitting it! If Deegee or Blade or Kiwi pops along then sure these guys will know the proper way of doing this!

Re: What are you doing today ??
Just googled it and dealers seem to say flat side to sump, curved side to plug

Bathroom.
Puke.
Back to bed.
Repeat.
Too much pigging-out earlier, mixed with a headcold.

Got clearance from my Physio to start having short rides on the bike
Also said I can start mowing lawns, but the bloke I have been paying does a marvellous job for a very reasonable price so might just keep him on

You didn't undergo phsysiotherapy, pain, countless hours of recuperation, etc. just so you could mow lawns, did you??
