Sad news. I seem to remember that he hadn't been well these past few years. The guy will always be remembered for his slapstick, but behind all that was some serious acting skills.

Remember watching “Mean Machine”, that was great film too, in a lot of ways he was like John Wayne, every character he played was a variation of Burt Reynolds. That didn’t diminish him either though.
