I reckon my bike is the oldest and probably least powerful here but it’s brilliant on track.

You're not a bling boy who has bought an expensive bike to show off on, you're riding something you have worked on to get it how you want and you're reaping the benefits by enjoying your time on the bike. You can't put a price on that

Looks like track days are going to be very expensive for V4 owners then .

I have never seen a tyre like that on a trackday. Ever.
I think someone needs to dial their traction control up a notch.

Those with a bit more knowledge than me reckoned it might be the slide control causing it.

Re: Silverstone Ducati trackday 31 May 2018
Any way had a cracking day out. Not only did the storms hold off but the weather actually improved in the afternoon and the last two sessions were warm and sunny and not wet and thundery as forecast.
Learned a lot about me and the bike, which behaved impeccably. Its far from the fastest bike these days but with getting my corners right and exiting in the right place i could keep up with 899/959 Panigales for the most part down the next straight.
I will never be a trackday god but you can't half enjoy yourself with some knowledge, a bit of courage, a decent bike and good people around you.
Though there are many people there with what appears to be a bottomless pit of cash for trackdays, bikes, leathers etc, i would say the majority can actually use them. That said there were some there who had just spent £20k+ on a V4 but would be far better to have spent some money on training first. A £20k V4 bike only makes you fast on a straight. You have to learn the skills to use it.
Plod was there as part of a Bikesafe stand and two of them were out on track, they also had a police V4 there which was used on track. I did thank Mr Plod for allowing me to pass two coppers on bikes at 90-100mph and for them not to chase after me. Can't see that ever happening again.
One of the girls there working for Ducati was a promo girl who knew Tankslap babe Candice as well. She also rides and is traing to be a CSS instructor as well.
Final point - was good to see quite a few girls and ladies riding out on track. some of whom were seriously fast.

Re: Silverstone Ducati trackday 31 May 2018
Its a bit cheeky to have a noise restriction in place at 102dB. Tracks are made for racing on, if people dont lile it they should never willingly hand over their money to buy a house next to a noisy environment.
Other than that glad you had a fantastic day. Loving your pics

It's crazy but people complain and councils listen, even though the tracks have been there for many years before they were.Rossgo wrote:Its a bit cheeky to have a noise restriction in place at 102dB. On the news this morning, Thruxton is celebrating it's 50th anniversary i think, however they are now limited to 16 racing days a year because of noise
