Have a nice break kwacky.
Today was spent packing up the caravan, in the rain (dull) then driving 2 hours back at 55mph (dull) (dull)

On my way to work...
That was one hell of a break, 7 weeks bar a couple days training in Perth. Still don’t know if it was quite worth the pain of 4 weeks Offshore, that nearly broke me.
First world problems I know, but having so much more time than I normally do with the kids and Jess has made leaving so much harder this time. I wasn’t quite expecting that. I’ve been Offshore for nearly 5 yrs and this would have to be close to the worst I’ve felt leaving Home.

Re: What are you doing today ??
That sucks mate, I sorta know how you feel as last year for a couple of months I had to stay away from home for work during the week and only went home and weekends and that was bad enough, cant imagine doing it for even 2/3 weeks solid at a time let alone 4.

Off to the Picasso museum then a mooch about. The kids have to do some homework so we'll come back for a couple of hours then head out for a meal.
The temps are ideal, low to mid 20s. Last night we sat outside a little back street restaurant for about 3 hours, eating tapas and drinking sangria. We got back well after midnight.

Re: What are you doing today ??
Sitting waiting for my first job start meeting of the swing. Lots of staff here atm so this swing should be a bit easier.
Heard rumours I may be getting moved again into a fixed position again, a vacancy has come up. Will suit me fine, I like stability, this floating position has been quite difficult for me. Other bonus is fixed positions come with a fixed room allocation and you are back to back with opposite shift so get it to yourself. Been sharing for the last year so it’s hard to get a quiet moment to yourself.

You're welcome
I had a good laugh at the replies to my post and will think harder about how I structure my words in the future!!
But yes, those opportunities are hard (excuse the pun ) to come by at the moment!

Re: What are you doing today ??
Was planning g to go out for a ride today but I was being lazy, I was shattered to be honest so instead took my mum out for a cream tea and scone and I had a sausage baguette. Got home and renewed my Local IAM club membership and found out I had ran out of stamps so popped to the off lisence. £3.60 For 6 stamps or £7.20 or 12...flipping hell wasn't expecting it to be that expensive!
