Yeah Kwacky, exactly what I discovered a few years back, unfortunately it was beer as well for me. Cider I have less issue with for some reason. One beer will have me up on the bog in the middle of the night nowadays.
Happiness is not a destination. It is a way of life.

Mrs Gee strictly rations her bread intake for exactly the same reason you’ve discovered Kwacky. I can’t persuade Mrs Gee, but it might be worth trying rye bread or sourdough to see if it helps, I’d be interested in how any experimentation turns out.
Btw, if it extends to cake it’s been nice knowing you.

Yep, I'm going to try a few breads to see how I get on. There's a really good bakers just around the corner from me so I can treat myself.

I’ve suffered from similar. It is partly caused by middle age and slowing down metabolism but you can reduce the effects.
Don’t eat sliced bread. It’s shit and not proper bread. I only eat bread from a proper bakers. Or make your own so you know what’s in it.
As regards beer, I have learned now not to pour it carefully but just pour normally so much of the gas is released as you pour. And avoid drinking from a bottle as it has increases the effect of gas into the stomach.

Caught a bug from somewhere, aching joints, no energy, feeling sick and I came home with a screaming skull ache. I really can’t remember the last headache I had, not fun.

Re: What ails you today?
Dangerously low blood pressure it seems (65/40).
Still felt rough this morning - see above post ^^^ and visited my GP, he took my stats, dosed me and despatched me immediately to A&E in an ambulance. More drugs and some tests later resulted in my being released this evening.
Today was not a fun day....

Re: What ails you today?
I remember being stuck in hospital after my hip replacement. Hot young lass peeks in....
"Ahh...you're awake!! How's about a nice sponge bath??"
"Oh, yes please!!"
"Okay....be back in two minutes.."
Two minutes later...
"Told you I'd be right back...you ready??"
"Oh, definitely!!"
"Good....this is Mike...he'll be giving you your bath..."
In walks Liberace.../

Re: What ails you today?
I have a minor condition called Addison’s disease, I take a few pills to keep me on the level due to it and have a normal life. I caught a bug that affected me in a way nothing else has since I can remember.duke63 wrote:Any idea why? Hope you get sorted soon.
I’m told I had what’s called an Addisonian crisis (feel free to look it up) due to this bug, which regardless of my normal dosage wiped me out and caused the problem. I’m sorted now (thanks to 10 times my normal dose) and was at the dentist and back to work today. But tbh it was a little disconcerting that I can go many years successfully managing a minor issue and all my efforts are undone by one random single cell organism...
