Will America never learn?

That's what happens when people like Trump preach mistrust and hatred towards others who don't fit into his pigeon hole of righteousness.

There are a lot of white christians in the US who are anti gay.

But if you're going to give guns to everyone and there's no respect for life, this is what happens.

Yeah...this place sucks....that's why no-one wants to move here. Oh wait....yes they do.

"Everyone" does not get given guns (they're a 'weapon'.....guns are on ships and other stuff). Those that have them legally...well, that's the law and that's pretty much the end of it. Most crimes of this nature are carried out by weapons procured illegally.

Violent crime rates for the US v. UK are remarkably close in terms of proportion...the weapons may be different, but the intent/results remain the same.

Sad that the first thing people express is to lambast long-standing US laws instead of expressing sympathy for the victims. Expected better.

/Goes off to the range.....

They do??
How many Yanks do you know?? A 'Yank' is someone from the Northern states....Florida is in The South.

But anyway.....I'm American, and I don't like going around shooting anyone....TBH I don't know anyone who does....but I know I will if I have to, it's part of my job. And I have been shot myself (also part of my job), so I feel that gives me a tad bit more knowledge on the topic.

And still no sympathy for the victims?? Words fail me. (No, they don't).

I'm very happy that you don't go round shooting people, why does getting shot give you any more knowledge on why your country has such a bad gun problem.A young lady was also shot dead in cold blood this week by some nutter in the good old USA ,if you don't think your country has a gun problem your blinkered

Americas definition of violent crime is shooting and killing. The UKs definition is very different. Which is why the figures LOOK similar.

You're very happy??....you don't sound like it.

You're right, I have absolutely no idea what I'm on about, I've only lived here for nearly thirty years...what on Earth would I have gleaned in that brief period?? You of course, have a huge knowledge of the place from NYPD Blue and 'COPS'.....I'll bow to your vastly superior experience on life (& death) in the USA.

PS....say Hi to the Queen for me!! (lol)

Most people in any country don't go round shooting people but even statistically the mass availability of guns and assault rifles especially must lead to more deaths. The stats in the US do bear this out.

When kids in cars can open mommy's handbag and accidentally shoot mommy dead there is definitely a problem (which has happened more than once).

No one is saying its like the wild west in America, but does everyone who chooses to really need to carry a gun?
