:D

There's a lot of sabre rattling but I think things will simmer down provided everyone makes sure there's no more "incidents"

Apparently Putin has excused Turkey of taking cheap IS oil.

The accusation is a decent one. Someone is buying cheap oil from ISIS and Turkey are close to the fields and oil lines ISIS control.

I agree and there is definitely more to shooting down the Russian jet than meets the eye. I believe the Russians have been bombing a group known as the Turkmen who are fighting Assads forces who the Russians support. Perhaps Turkey was sending the Russians a message about bombing the Turkmen rebels.

It's part of the issue. Putin is pro Assad.

Israel is anti-Assad, as he stopped Israel nicking natural resources in the Golan Heights. Now that Syria is at civil war, Israel has moved in and is selling licenses to allow the mining and drilling in Golan Heights. Those licences have been sold to American companies. Those American companies need Syria to remain destabilised so they can set up their operations and make shit loads of money. This is why the US wants to get involved in Syria, to protect its businesses in the region.

Russia knows about Israel stealing the Golan Heights and wants to stop that happening as it threatens the oil and gas business there. Russia has businesses in Syria and supplies the national army with weapons. The fighting in Syria allows Russia to strengthen its military presence in the region by building a naval and army base.

The Turks have been bombing the rebels fighting ISIS, because the Kurds want independence from Turkey. Russia has given some support ?(in secret) to the Kurds.

Most of the military action around Syria from outside countries has very little to do with ISIS and everything to do with taking sides according to their business interests.

Pretty spot on there Kwacky. perhaps the only true constraint on the proxy war is that the current American leadership are very keen that their interests are not perceived as being the driving force.
Of course the incoming replacement will be very cautious, won't you Mr Trump.....?

So these Golan heights are Syrian land, yet cause they are at civil war any **** can come in and steal the resources? I think that's shit. Bombs the oil lines as well and that'd stop ISIS making money. Shimples.

In simple terms it means that rich people do what they like. The poor lose most of their rights. Everything is done for profit. Jails are built and run by private companies so they change the laws to get more people into prison (like the 3 strike rule they have). Schools have to find their own money. Workers rights go out of the window.

Right wing politics is not a fan of social welfare. They believe that everyone should pay for everything - you have to earn it. If you lose your job, tough. Need medical treatment? Pay for it.

They also prefer war to peace, as a negotiated settlement is seen as weak. Generally speaking (broad brush time) they are less tolerant of others, so Trump wants to get all of the immigrants, round them up and throw them out of the US of A.
